Too bad there was no bad beat jackpot involved. Amazing.

...because it brings back bad memories of the ONE time I have ever gotten a royal straight flush (or any straight flush, for that matter).

UB tourney, still a ways from the money. Blinds 1000/2000 or something. I'm allin preflop and catch the absolute nuts and end the hand with 6x the number of chips I started with. My new chip count: 30. Not 30,000. 30.

I started the hand with 5 chips because on the previous hand I had raised a couple of limpers with KK and the guy to my left reraised me. I pushed and after much delay he finally called with JJ. He spiked a J, obviously, and my above average stack with better than 80% chance of more than doubling was down to 5 chips.

To add insult to injury, I not only got the nuts on the straight flush, but the dealer teased me with winners on the next 3 hands as well. My stack was one double away from respectability when I busted on my 5th consecutive shortstacked allin - I pushed with 77 from the CO and lost to ATo or something like that.

I wish I had just had 5 fewer chips on the KK hand. Would've been much easier emotionally... /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
