For anyone who was thinking of taking the $25 Free Chip offer from Cirrus Casino-

I began a mini tour of blackjack/casino sites, about 3 weeks ago after reading the results of other posters in this forum. I tried Lucky Nugget, River Belle, etc., then I came across a post mentioning Cirrus Casion, and their completely free $25 in chip offer.

The poster stated that they were "on the up and up", and that he had cashed out for close to the max of $100, although it took nearly two weeks to hit his neteller account. I then registered, receieved my free $25, ran it to just over $90, and cashed out.

After two weeks passed, with no cashout, I sent an e-mail to their support, asking where my money was. I got back an e-mail stating that I had not fulfilled the 20X play-through, having only wagered $277. I went back to check the site, since the promo rules stated specifically when I signed up that a 10X play-through was required.

Here is the link to the page I checked:

http://www.cirruscasino.com/promo_rules.shtml#new
(In case it is changed later, at the time of this post, the rules at this link state a 10X play-through for this $25 Free promo, as quoted in the conversation below)

I then went on their live chat, to ensure that my cashout would be processed according to the rules of the site.

Here is the conversation:

Please wait for a site operator to respond.

You are now chatting with 'Christine'
Christine:Welcome to CIRRUS CASINO Live Help! How may I help you ?
you:I have been waiting for my cashout from your site for over two weeks. Yesterday I happened to check my junk e-mail folder, and I saw an e-mail that stated I had not fulfilled the play-through requirements for the free chip promotion, since I had only wagered $277.75, and the play-through required was $500 (20X). This information is incorrect, as your site's promo rules clearly state: FREE $25 Max cashout is $100 10 Times play through. ( Wagers on Roulette, Baccarat or Craps may not count into the wagering calculation) my account is registered to the e-mail address XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Christine:you have not wagered the amount required
Christine:the play thru is 20 times
Christine:you must wager at least $500 to cashout
you:no, as your site states, right now, the play through is 10X
you:http://www.cirruscasino.com/promo_rules.shtml#new
Christine:our play thru is 20 times
Christine:you can go and check the rules
you:please check the link
Christine:Free chip rules
you: FREE $25 Max cashout is $100 10 Times play through. ( Wagers on Roulette, Baccarat or Craps may not count into the wagering calculation) No wagers on Progressives allowed when wagering on any free chip. Only one free chip allowed per player, household, e-mail address, etc, until and unless you make a real money deposit.
Christine:go to the link that I sent you
you:this is directly from your site
Christine:it seems that the designers did not upgrade that info
Christine:2 months ago
Christine:when we changed the play thru
you:I went, and I saw it. I am telling you what is posted on your official website
Christine:play thru is 20 times
Christine:they will make the change now
Christine:thanks for letting me know!
you:Please give me a phone number where I can talk to you or your direct supervisor
Christine:I am the supervisor
Christine:and the rules are pretty clear
Christine:you have to wager at least $500
Christine:otherwise you will not be able to cashout
you:I agree, they are posted very clearly
Christine:play thru is 20 times
Christine:you can see that from the link I just sent
you:I will be posting this conversation to casinomeister and other casino forums, I am unhappy with your mistake and your response
Christine:all I am telling you is that the play thru is 20 times
Christine:you can check ur terms and conditions
Christine:it says 20 time splay thru
you:You are aware, however, that your website states differently, and the rules stated there are the ones I was going by?
Christine:thanks to you I knwo that the designers did not upgrade all teh info
Christine:but the rules changed some weeks ago
you:what about my situation? I played at your site, based on the incorrect information provided on your own web page
you:and they are still on your web site
Christine:you have to play the free chip at leats 20 times in order to cashout
Christine:sorry about that
Christine:buit all players are sticking to the rules
you:Well, as I said, I will be reporting this deception of players to gambling forums

So the Website has two completely different sets of rules for this promotion posted (The one I was going by is the one linked from the front page). What, if anything, should be done about this? For those more experienced with dealing with these online casinos, what should my next step be, both to get the small amount of money that remains in my account, and to warn other players about this type of practice, and the subsequent response from their support?

Nothing. You never made a deposit. There was no consideration. You tried to get something for nothing.

Some of you people are so stupid it blows my mind.

The site offered a bonus, he took them up on the bonus, met the requirements and is now requesting that he be given HIS money. What about this is so hard to understand?

Nothing. You never made a deposit.

This has nothing to do with it.

There was no consideration.

What does this mean?

You tried to get something for nothing.

Your point being what? The site offered the bonus, the poster took them up on it, met the playthrough requirements and is now requesting that he be paid HIS money.

Most likely you are screwed, even though you are right and the scumbag casino is wrong. Keep bitching, though. Maybe someone will be able to help you out, or failing that, you can cost the casino more than the $100 they have stolen from you.

I agree completely Homer. I don't know what these other posters are talking about. He didn't try to steal money from the casino in an unfair way. He saw a bonus and took them up on the offer. After completing it they denied him the money. How would you feel if after accepting a bonus at Party Poker and playing the 500 raked hands, the bonus wasn't released and when you called support they said it was really 2000 hands? You wouldn't be happy and you would complain all day long. Same situation here.

Exactly. A better example might be the OIC at Gaming Club, since it dealt purely with free money. Imagine if you had played the 100(?) required hands before cashing out, and were then told you had to play 1000 more. Just because it's free money doesn't mean it's not yours once you complete the playthrough requirements.

Any reputable online casino will and should hand you your money.

However, reputable online casinos are few and far between, and a reputable RTG (Real Time Gaming - the software that is powering Cirrus and a bunch of other casinos) casino is an oxymoron.

You can try and contact their support again and request that the money be redeposited to your account so you can finish clearing the bonus, and try to make the best of your situation.

Other than that I don't see much of a recourse, since practically all RTG casinos are scum (with the exception of Phoenician).

For what it's worth, I was bored one day and took Cirrus up on the 25 buck free offer. I never have deposited money into a casino, and don't ever plan to.

But at Cirrus I played one hour of .25 jacks or better video poker and quit 100 ahead. I cashed out the max of 100 to neteller. It took a week, but they paid it to my surprise. I figure I only played 10 times the $25 bucks since it was only one hour of .25 vidoe poker. Hit 4 four of a kinds, seemed very fair to me.

Good luck and if I were you I'd just play some more to qualify for the now 20 times requirement. Who knows, you may still win. It's free money anyways.

ryan. is this your new tilt-post handle? this is something you would say, but know better than to use your yet-undetected new monniker.

i'm amazed you are even still here, but try and pick a different .gif for your aliases. ok??

stupid people, or people who play very big are the only ones that don't take the free money. it is like playing a slot without your card in the machine. if people don't use these offers, then there would be ONLY -EV for the players. these offers level the field, and keep your roll from going down the toilet within 5 minutes.

Thanks for the (reasonable) replies. To the poster who suggested just playing out another $230 in wagers, that may be the best option available, but I'm not going to do it, for two reasons:

1) In purely economic terms, I have to wager $230 to complete the "wagering requirements", where I can win a maximum of $8, but lose $92 due to the $100 cap. Without doing the calculations, the EV is ugly. But, you say, if you do not wager the additional $230, you may not receive anything at all- which brings us to...

#2, and the real reason, is the principle of the frickin' thing. There is such thing as accountability, and it shouldn't matter whether you interact with your customers face-to-face or via the phone/internet. Since I have entered the realm of internet commerce, I am astonished at what companies will try to get away with when they know they will never have to deal with you in person.

I may not get resolution on this thing, but I will tell anyone who will listen about this Casino, and their practices.

The EV on your current strategy is exactly 0, so I'd say the above is a better option?

You could try someone like casinomeister (pitch a bitch at his site).

Maybe one more carefully worded e-mail highlighting the bad publicity contained in this thread?

It's worth taking a screenshot of t&cs when signing up at certain casinos (especially RTGs).

If you must use a contraction here, try "what're." Although "what are" would probably be best.

Given your obvious high level of education and extreme business savvy, I don't think "Mr. 187 Man" will have to do much of anything. You'll just hang yourself.

I hit 3 dueces (dealt to me) on penny dueces wild 100 hands at cirrus when using the $25 free chip. My win for that hand was $115, I cashed out $100 and went through e-mails and chats and more emails.

Finally a month after my cashout was approved I finally got it in my neteller.

Here (http://www.casinomeister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2211) is my thread about it.
