How would you play this to get more money out of these guys? I overbet the pot because of the flush draw. Too much? Should i be happy with what i got? Comments on play?

awfully big raise, but it depends on the game. are these the type of players who you think would call this bet with hands like QJ or two spades? what about hands like KQ or KJ? if the opponents are capable of folding hands to big bets, i would have bet considerably less than this. you don't need to bet this much to give straight or flush draws bad implied odds.

Question is, did you want to be called? As crockpot mentioned, you didn't have to bet 30 to give your opponents bad implied odds. Had I been in your shoes, I would have bet 15-18 to make it a little more tempting for them to call. However, you made about 15 profit on that hand, so move on.

Ray Zee gave a great reply to a similar question. His point was half the deck makes a big hand for someone (any card A through 9 and any spade), so you want to keep the pot small or make it really big on the flop. In this case a $15 raise would have put you in the unhappy middle ground.

So I like the $30 raise, unless as crockpot points out the raise won't get called by any draw.
