So I was doing the ole' PlanetLuck, StarLuck BW thing this weekend. No Suprises with PL BJ I did the java, vegas strip and my variance was between $180 and $220 the whole way and ended down $0.5, leaving me with $199.50 and a $199 cashout.

I moved to StarLuck and after going down to $180.00 in 1000 hands I quit for a few hours. When I came back I expected to move back within my variance BUT I had the worst streak I've ever seen. Honestly, I was concerned, I was thinking huge rigged, but, I kept grinding.

From that point on I never won a doubled down or split hand. Not Aces, not nothing. I had 5 times in a row I doubled down on 11 while the dealer showed 6 and I would draw a 2 or a 3 and dealer ended up with 21.

Dealer would show 2, I would have 20 and stand dealer would show 12 and draw 9, about 5 times. So in less than 100 hands I was down to $120.

I quit and headed for VP and played a few hands but I noticed it was 8:5 not 9:6 so I quit and went back to BJ.

The losing continued. I ended up with $50.50 and $86.00 WR left. I decided WTF and switched to $25 bets. I went on a huge run and I ended with $200.50

So they cashed me out for $199 and $201 /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyone ever see BJ go bad like that at StarLuck before? It just didn't seem possible but I'm glad I hung in there at the end.

the minimum $1 obviously. i thought we settled that weeks ago that the minimum was the best deal.

anyway if you've seen it I think what would matter was what you were betting per hand when you saw it not what I was betting per hand /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Maybe you need a couple cups of coffee? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

anyway I got out alive, it's the first time online I've ever felt like someone pulled "the switch" just wondering if anyone else felt that way at StarLuck before?

The chance of losing 150 units in 1500 hands of BJ is something like 0.25%. Highly unlikely, but not impossible.

Plus you went back up so it's all good.

I tried both "Luck" casinos twice (regular bonus and Igmpay) and also Casinocounty, and came out more or less within expected value.

True it's all good. It was more like 130 in 400 hands. Sort of discomforting.

I guess you were the unlucky 1 in 400, its not *that* unlikely.

I've never played online blackjack. However, I used to play live blackjack, and the kind of run you describe is not at all unusual. Be careful about increasing your bet size. It worked out this time, but you could easily have ended up with a much bigger loss.

Blackjack is a high variance game. Most of your +EV comes from blackjacks and double downs. If the blackjacks don't come, or you lose a lot of double downs, the game can go very sour.

thanks, that makes sense and makes me feel better.

Yeah I was up on the PlanetLuck so my $200 was covered or I wouldn't have had the courage to try a few $25 bets at the end when I was down to $50. Thank God the first one went well and I was up $99.

I used the largest data set you provided, indicated a loss of 150 units in ~1500 hands. In between that you might have had a streak where you lost 130 in 400, but the larger data set provides the more accurate estimate.
