I'm still learning how to play aggressive. If I take the lead in the hand preflop, I'm getting confused on when to give up aggression. If the flop misses me, do I keep betting out to try and steal? I'll admit, this works sometimes, but it seems that a lot of the time, an opponent will stay in with a low pair to see a showdown. When do I give up?

Here are a few hands:

Hand 1

PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG raises, MP folds, Hero 3-bets, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (7.50 SB) 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) Q/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

UTG is a fairly solid player. At this point, I figure I'm beat if UTG called the turn bet, but I'm also sure that this player doesn't have the flush. Maybe one card to it.

River: (6.75 BB) 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

No A or J... I don't bet. Should I have bet here?

Final Pot: 6.75 BB
Main Pot: 6.75 BB, between UTG and Hero. > Pot won by UTG (6.75 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows 6c Kc (two pair, eights and sixes).
Hero shows Ad Jd (one pair, eights).
Outcome: UTG wins 6.75 BB.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG folds, MP folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (3 SB) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif, Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO folds, SB calls.

Turn: (2.50 BB) 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (4.50 BB) K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

SB was a CS. I should have probably bet here, but SB is fairly passive. K or Q beats me.

Final Pot: 4.50 BB
Main Pot: 4.50 BB, between SB and Hero. > Pot won by SB (4.50 BB).

Results in white below:
SB shows 8s 7c (two pair, eights and sevens).
Hero shows 9h 9s (one pair, nines).
Outcome: SB wins 4.50 BB.

Hand 3

PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif, J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif.
UTG folds, MP folds, CO folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) T/images/graemlins/club.gif, J/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls.

Turn: (5 BB) 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

River: (9 BB) 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

This raise was not good, but BB was very loose (lost about $70 in 30 minutes). He did try to buy a few pots earlier. This, I believe, was a little loose.

Final Pot: 13 BB
Main Pot: 13 BB, between Hero and BB. > Pot won by Hero (13 BB).

Results in white below:

Ouch!
