If I don't fold the on the flop, I raise it.

Having called the flop and finding yourself heads up, I agree with raising the turn. I would then check the river unless I improved.

why no flop raise? the turn raise seems a bit risky here

The turn raise looks more like a K. Its like a false slowplay.

I probably would have raised the flop and folded to a 3 bet.

What was your rationale for waiting until the turn? Would the sb 3 bet the flop with less than a King, but not be so brazen to 3 bet the turn with less than a King?

I would raise the flop, there are 3 players behind you. You want the ones with 2 overcards to your sevens out.

I like the flop raise to clean up overcards. With that turn card, a raise is great though. Only issue might be UTG's limping standards and whether he will call down with 88-TT.

OK fair enough, if you had a worse hand. but you have a hand that could very well be good, but can be easily outdrawn. I don't think anyone is laying down a pair in this situation, even if they think you might have a K

I think there's a very good chance you hold the best hand on the flop, and I think protecting that is important. if you get cold-called by UTG, then raised on the turn, you can safely fold and save 1 SB in the process.

I don't like this play with the SB betting into four players and a caller behind you. Unless you've seen the SB bet with a draw into a field before.

It also looks a lot like a naked Ace.

what self-respecting bosox would have a picture of Manny under his name?

cool if sb will fire two barrels into a field without much in this spot, flop smoothcall may let you get a better read (how many call/raise after you, what doe ssb do on the turn) but most often when sb bets twice here you are in a rough spot unless sb is a special type. I prefer to pop or fold the flop with a crowd behind me.

This would have been a great play, had you been heads-up on the turn. It's a bit risky when you have a caller behind you, though.

Small pot, 3 players left to act behind you, ugh, I would fold.

I am still of the oppinion that 95% of party players don't have a K when they bet out from the SB. I had no reason to think this guy is any different.

The turn raise is risky, but it also makes it very hard for a half-reasonable UTG to call with a hand like J /images/graemlins/heart.gifT /images/graemlins/heart.gif when in reality he has about a million outs.

But I'm worried about the 3 players behind me also, they aren't folding a King to a raise. With this flop there aren't a lot of hands for the Small Blind to be betting, maybe a flush draw and few for utg+1 to be calling with.

I'm afraid I win a small pot or lose a big pot in this situation most of the time.

nottom,

how many similar hands must you post for everyone to get it? your flop smooth call was purely brilliant, as it makes the turn raise much more powerful...as if you just called the flop to bring along more suckers.

i am doing a lot more with turn semi-bluffs now and the results are stunning. thank you!

cheers!

Raise the flop. Make UTG call 2 cold.

I agree with ace high here. With the three players still to act behind you I think you can just dump your hand here.

I agree with you that SB doesn't have the king - unless you have him pegged as a good player in your notes and there are some good players at 3/6 as well.
