I am relatively new to poker and have been playing mostly low limit online with a few SNG tourneys. In reading through the forums, I notice a lot of folks keeping track of various stats and hands. I am interested to know what stats you track, how (paper, software, etc) and what you do with them. Mostly, I have been just tracking $ won/loss.

Appreciate any info you would like to share,
Bill

The why should be obvious if you are interested in it. The how:

pokertracker (http://pokertracker.com)

pokercharts (http://pokercharts.com/)

I think I understand the why, just looking for opinions. Also trying to get a feel for how much data is worthwhile. Do you keep stats on every hand? Do you keep separate stats for various types of games and stakes?

Will check out the software, thanks for the reply.

Pokertracker will do this for you. Pokertracker is used for online play only.

If you play B&M, pokercharts will add to your stat keeping by logging sessions (B&M and/or online) as a whole.

pokercharts is cool because it is web based and free, but I think once you have the money sitting around, StatKing (software sold by ConJelCo) is worth the investment..
