I'm new to these stakes so be nice...

very passive table, I've raised PF twice in last orbit, showed down both times with AKo and A9s(position raise), betting both hard the whole way.

I am UTG+1 with KK

UTG folds, I raise, MP3 (decent player) calls, everyone else folds.

flop = 7 8 3 r

I bet, he very quickly calls suggesting he checked the check/call box.

turn = 3 completing rainbow

bet, same quick call

river = 8

I check, he bets, I raise, he calls.

before you blast me for the river raise I want to try to explain myself...his quick call on the flop suggested to me he had a pp (44, 55, 66), overcards, or a small possibility 10/9s but I think he is too tight for that, which I was thinking beforehand. Mind you this players was decent and not stupid. If he had overcards I think he would've raised the flop or the turn to scare me away, thinking I had overcards myself. On the river I checked to induce a bluff because I was sure I had him beat and figured he would bet his pp or ace high for value. OK, by all means fire away, I can't get better if no one tells me what I'm doing wrong.

I think that you played it well.

He might have a passively played 99-JJ, and since you checked the river, he figures that you have AK and takes a stab at the pot.
