Are those common in french casinos? I've never seen them before (but i've never been to a french card room)

You obviously haven't watched the early James Bond flicks. (Sean Connery is the ONLY Bond!!) Seems like Bond was always in a European casino, shoving stacks of plaques in against the villian. Banco!

One of the players (Boubli?) was a dentist! You have to beware a dentist in a French poker room. He just might remove all of your plaque!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I had to chuckle when I was watching the tounry because they were doing all the same things like in the Bond movies. The dealers deal similarly (they slide the cards on the table rather than toss them). Some of the chips are little plates (plaques). The dealer says weird french stuff like 'wibi', 'cart', and 'banco'. All they needed was a guy in a tuxedo pulling out a cigarette and writing a check to get more chips.

i like the sliding cards much better, and i like the variety with the plaques too

The sliding style of dealing is cool, and I like the plaques, but the way they deal the flop is excruciating

I was rather disappointed that we didn't get to see the pros trying to shuffle the plaques.

I think Vince is working on his plaque moves. Watch for it on an upcoming show.
