I just got QJo in MP2. It was folded around to me and I thought for a second and folded.

The table was mostly tight and aggressive, with 2 soft spots that had folded already.

How do you all play QJo when you are first in?

If I am going to play it it is a raise. I usually won't go first in with it unless I am third from the button or closer.

At a tight table, I would open raise with QJo from MP2. Any earlier and it becomes a fold. If there is a limper, it depends on how good they are. Good limper=call. Bad limper = raise.

open raise, otherwise limp with the limpers from MP. In an aggressive game it is an easy fold form EP.

why not try it out a few different ways to see what works best for you? i would have raised in your position, but i used to limp with it. i think raising works better for me, but i'm not afraid to play it aggressively post flop against 1 or 2 players.

cheers!

Its raise of fold. Personally I prolly would have folded, I dunno. Alot would depend on my table image, and just kinda how I felt at the time. I try and never open limp anything from that spot

At a loose table, I think open limping with QJo from middle position is not a bad play.

well I was going from his description of a tight aggressive table. If its a loose table and the raise has no chance of grabbing you the button or buying you the blinds then a limp is better

wouldn't it be better to raise this on a tight table, knowing that they are more likely to fold AJ or KJ, etc...?

cheers!

If you are on a tightest table, I'd highly consider raising with it.

MP2 sure seems close enough to the button to raise here.

Peace,

did you ever see the episode where Homer is painting a house and he goes

"if Bart can be El Barto, then I can be..."

and you see the wall where he painted "EL HOMO"
