I know I should have raised preflop, and I have no excuse why I didn't, so let's just leave that alone, m'kay? /images/graemlins/wink.gif That said it probably also saved me a SB or 2, as I'm sure he would have stayed in regardless so I was dead from the get-go here, but I still know it was a mistake.

Also, once I made the boat I locked into that stupid mode of only seeing my hand and not wondering why this guy, who I had noticed earlier seemed to be playing pretty solid, was so willing to cap the betting every round. Should I have slowed down or was I right taking this to the max?

Thanks in advance.

Raise preflop. You didn't save bets. You missed bets. Don't be results-oriented.

Otherwise, you played it fine.

Obviously, you should fold to his turn raise.

No, seriously... I don't know any circumstances where any player could or SHOULD lose less than you did on this hand. With a 4-bet cap online, there's really never a spot where you go "Damn, this guy is going bonkers and I have the nut-boat. I wonder if he's got four tens." I think that thought starts to creep in when you're at a B&M casino and have put in about 5 bets on the river, and he doesn't appear to be slowing down.

I would have lost at least one more small bet because I would have raised pre-flop (like you should have). /images/graemlins/grin.gif

no way not to lose tons of money on this situation.

i would have figured the guy made 2 pairs on the river. then possibly a smaller boat on the turn. if youve got a full house of Aces, i wouldnt recommend ever backing off regardless of your read on your opponent. others might disagree, but the odds of you being beat are surely smaller than the margin of error of your opponent read.

I know, I should have raised pf *hangs head in shame* /images/graemlins/blush.gif But yeah, this really seems to be one of those cases where you can't really expect the other guy to have teh one exact hand that beats you. You're right, most I've the time this hand is a monster - just not this time. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yeah, it's a lesson learned even though it benefited me this time - if I'd won I'd have been "damn, I should have got another $1.50 out of him."

Oh yeah, and thanks for the hand converter tool, that's one cool utility. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

That was my after-the-fact thought, if I hadn't been so single minded about it, I should have put him on a smaller boat. Oh well, just one of those hands where there's no way to avoid a big loss - heck, this being Party and all, I probably could have expected the last ace to fall on the river for another classic "Party is rigged" situation. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I think because you didn't raise pre flop, would have made it harder to put him on something better than a FH, because you might assume, that your opponent doesn't believe you have the A's because you didn't raise pre flop, obviously you can't slow down anyway.

(man, that's one long sentence, I'm not sure makes any sense /images/graemlins/confused.gif)
