PP LL. God I can't wait for my live bankroll to arrive. Soon, very soon. Game has been pretty tight but limping will occasionally lead to some 5 or 6 handed flops. Relatively aggressive post-flop with draws, top pair, etc.. routinely bumping it up on flop. Anyway...

I get KcTc in MP (two before button) and raise first in. Cut-off folds and button re-raises (drat!). SB folds and now BB caps it (double drat). I call two (anyone fold here?). Button calls. 3 players to flop. Pot is 6.25 BB

Flop is Qc Kh Td

BB checks, I bet, Button calls, BB calls. Well, I can beat AA, AK, AQ and JJ but not KK, QQ, TT or AJ. I am going to hate seeing an A, J or Q come off. Tricky spot here. 3 to turn 9.25BB.

Turn board is Qc Kh Td 6s. That could not have changed much.

BB checks again, I bet again and now button raises. BB calls two. I call. (anyone reraise here?)

Final Board is Qc Kh Td 6s Ts

BB checks a final time, I bet my full house...and button raises again. BB calls! I call.

What place did I get? What are their hands?

Anyone play it differently?

Final Board: Qc Kh Td 6s Ts

Bronze: BB with AA

Silver: Button with AJ

Gold: KJS with KT baby!

It always helps to be lucky.

I might have folded preflop. A lot of hands could beat you, so I wouldn't have been as agressive. (Not that I haven't overplayed my hands many times.) The board paring give anyone holding a set a better hand than you.

You are likely in second or third place. The BB probably has a straight while the button has Queens or Kings full.

dont think that i would play it any differently, i would say that bb has AA, and cant let go, and button has QQ (and thats why he didnt cap it preflop) and you take second.

heres hoping im wrong (for your sake)

it seems to me that raising on the river is to aggressive for AJ, am i wrong here, is it marginal?

but when the board pairs and i am bet into after raising the turn, i would just call my str8, especially with some guy lurking behind me who could easily be slowplaying a boat, or getting ready to fold. two bets should definalty make him fold, and one he will probably call, making a raise even money to a call when you win, and costing you a bet (possibly two if you are raised)when you loose. am i to tight?

That has raise was bad. At best he was hoping I had JT or AT and was overplaying my rivered trips. I would have just called in his shoes.

KJS,

Here's my guesses for what it's worth...

You came in 2nd place.

BB has AK suited.

Button has QQ for the winner.

Maybe a minor point, but with all that firepower on the board, I probably just check and call the turn and river. This is internet poker though, a little different than regular casino play so it's harder to give someone as much credit for a legit hand. I would find button's flop smooth call as highly suspicious.

Just my 2 cents, now let me peek.

Shows how much I know (or think I know).

Nice hand, glad to hear you dragged the pot.

BB with AA, outside (5% chance) of AJs

Button with QQ, outside (10% chance) of AJs.

I like folding to 2 more preflop. I also don't think it is very close.

Off to see the results.

I already looked at the results so no guesses from me but, I would have folded preflop (unless these players were pretty wild) so it looks like I never would have won the nice pot you got.

I think button has QQ and the Big Blind has AK.

I think I would checkraise the flop. Almost certain one of those two would bet and you might get a better idea of whether or not a set is out there.

I'll go read the results now.

My bet on the flop was specifically designed to make it expensive for the BB to continue with a hand that could come back and beat me. Not very likely but I thought it worth a try. I had a feeling that the button would raise and charge him double. Of course, this being PP, everyone (except me) slowplays so he just called.
