Ok I know I'm probably missing something here.Over the last few days I have been scouring PT in attempts to make NL game better.

My question is this.In PT how is it possible when looking at specifc individual "known starting hands" to have a positive "$Won" but a negative "BB/Hand".
For example I'm looking at K6s in small blind its showing 4 hands,$Won +0.80 but a BB/Hand of -0.03.

What am I missing here..duh

When I look at all hands from all position.I have 3 starting hands out of the 169-that have this error where Total $Won is positive but BB/Hand is negative..
is this just me or some type of database error??

One way it would happen is if you are playing different limits.

For example if you are winning at bigger limits and losing at smaller limits but you have more hours at the smaller limits this would happen.

such anomalies, and the effort wasted on trying to make sense of useless stats, are precisely why I don't use PT.

I know what to do with K6s in all positions already without having some statistic tell me I'm doing it wrong.

Sorry to be blunt, but although PT may have some legitimate uses, it's just not going to be useful enough for me to bother with, particularly since I'll soon be going back to mostly live play.

you could not be more wrong-PT is a great tool for Allstars and newbies..I was stubborn also I didnt buy it until 5 months ago and I've been online 2 years..

Only way I'll be playing B&M again is if Online poker gets shut down or I start playing/beating $20-40/30-60 or bigger LHE games. You can make $300+ a day online w/low stress and manage your time and emotions much easier than B&M-at least for me.whats fun to hear about is that small NLHE games are now all over Vegas and LA-but still you just dont get the hand volume that compensates you-tough to buck higher cost of living in most of those areas too.Best of all as long as games stay decent Online earn is much smoother than the massive swings you need to go thru to make a solid earn at B&M.

IF I could play 2/3 tables at once Bellagio $200 NL game or 2 yellow chip ring games in LA at once I'd think about it--multi-table play rules online!!!It's what allows us grinders to smoother games...

I cant fathom the idea of playing 6-8 hours at ~35 hph surrounded by people I'd rather not be around...crappy food, crappy settings-unhealthy.I'd love to go play for a week or two then I'd want to go back to my regualr gig..Online poker rules..unless you play seriously high. And this is coming from someone who loves poker and just playing.I've played all over the country.
Online poker allows solid players to play for a living and maintain a decent healthy lifestyle.Thats me at least. If I return to B&M poker I'll move to LA or Bay Area .I already lived and played in AC,LasVegas and FoxWoods.

I played 6000 table hours just last year-thats 3-3 1/2 solid B&M years.

Casinoes are crappy places to hang out 40-60 hours a week.

You are right that PT is just a tool and it can suffer from data overload.I use PT to improve the mechanics of my game NOT for record-keeping.I do that separately and have for 4 years.Whats boggles my mind is that many frequent supposedly knowledgable posters DO NOT keep records...this cracks me up..cause they spend hours analyzing and yappin about hands and but dont do the must important thing-keep records.

I don't want to hang at a casino 40-60 hours a week anymore.

but i want to hang at my computer that long even less.

I personally HATE online play, having learned and gotten very used to live play over many years.

I am well aware of the nuances of both live and online play.

I kept very good records when I played live. It's only online that I could care less about keeping records anymore. That's because online play is so impersonal, and the fish are SO protected from good readers of people that it's just plain not worth it. And to keep stats on something that I primarily despise is even sillier.

soon I will be back out west and my online days will be mostly gone. I can't wait.

Al:

I love getting in my car and just cruisin for weeks and playing all over. This is an awesome country especially the SouthWest. My next wanderlust fix is planned in early May.

I'll be traveling from FL. up to Tunica,NOLA,Phoenix,Las Vegas,Los Angeles and Bay Area.

Remember you can deduct all trip expenses-gas,lodging as a tax deduction or do that cent per mile thing-ask your accountant. That makes the current high gas prices less burdensome.
