Royalty, Dignitaries, Land Owners believe as a hole that Gus Hanson has surpassed Phil Helmuth as the top tourney pro.

Since the elite have informed you of this we'd like to know whom the peasants believe is 3rd.

No, I believe "Land Owners believe as a hole" is correct; "Land Owners believe like a hole" would be wrong. Something to do with nouns and verbs. My 8th grade English teacher (Mrs. Latiss) explained it to me, but I don't remember the details.

I believe Zack was referring to the use of the word "hole" as in "hole in the ground". The proper use of the word would have been "whole" as in "the whole truth". Probably a typo, or extremely poor spelling, but not a noun/verb issue.
