I have chosen friday for my attempt at playing 100 SNG's in one day. Anyone interested in sweating the disaster can watch me on Party 200+15 SNG's starting at about 1AM CST playing as DarkStargasm. For onther info on this, please refer to earlier thread on this posted on monday by me.

Wish me luck! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I am doing this off a bankroll that began the night just under 4000.

Early #'s are in:

14 tourneys
1 win
4 seconds
Getting fitted for a bridesmaid's dress.

So what you are saying is... if you acheive even a 18.6% ROI... you will make $4000 and double your bankroll today!

Geez. I'm still shaking my head at this concept

Good luck man. If you pull this off, it falls into my definition of legendary.

looking a bit tuff at the moment, my games i jump into after i get out of a 4th table are taking longer than usual to fill, affecting my per hour. However, on the good side of that, i am getting bad beat and rivered to DEATH, losing AA or KK 5 of 6 times w/ them, and MANY river 3 outers, thus hastening my tables...

Daliman
03-19-2004, 06:29 AM
so far, been in 7 HU matches for the title, lost 6, every hand i lost on i went in as a fave....worst was a guy calling my limp- reraise for 3800 more w/ j9h preflop vs my Aks...sigh

Results at first(and probably only) break;
39 tourneys
3 wins
9 places
4 shows

A terrible morning, overall, as I have had a rash of river 3 outers hit vs me, and have gotten allin preflop w/ the best hand 4 times in early stages and lost them all ( 2x AA vs KK, 1x KK vs 88, and a QQ vs AK that i bet allin on rainbow turn j high that AK called and spiked a K.)
If my luck ever evens out, i'll be a rich man.
Also, i'm DONE slowplaying big hands. I lose almost every single time to silliness that would have folded to straight forward play.

Stay after 'em. You're still ahead.

Just got up from a 4 hour nap..

well, i once again got snapped by an underpair to my AA early in a tourney, but on the (semi) bright side, i've found 5 more tourneys played that i didnt cash in....(hashmark confusion, the bane of many an accountant) so my #'s were a bit off b4 (has, but i got it figured out now. So 5 more to 100, but the %'s blow... ah well, at least after the humanity of this am, i'm still up.

I really appreciate those of you who have stopped by to show support. The fatigue is getting to me WAY less than the bad beats i'm taking. I've had 2 212-1 shots hit vs me, SEVERAL allins with overpair vs top on flop that i bet strong, got called and got caught, and a river quads beating my full house. Seems like I only ever catch or hold up when i have few chips...just had K8 with K86 2 spades flop, i bet out, guy callled allin for last 95 chips with 56o and rivers a stragight on me.... If it weren't for the challenge, i'd pack up for the day....

Well, that was more of a 'crap this sucks but i have no choice' followed by 'wohoo' followed by 'omg that sucked'.

Putting you all-in with A9 was obviously correct.

It sounds like some of those other beats have been more of the "I got all the money in as a big favorite and he hit his 2 outer/runner-runner to win" sort of 'traditional' bad-beat.

I mean, if the 2 9's had come first, the running 3's would have been nothing more than an annoying curiosity.

Many kudos for trying this. Hope you end up moderately up for the day...

The one JJ I saw had you all-in preflop w/ JJ v. KJ. Ace on the flop, Ten on the turn, Queen on the river. Something like that. Maybe you should just muck JJ pre-flop.

so 33% cash rate... pathetic
-515 overall(-215 after affiliate rebate)

very disappointing, i really thought i was going to win $5000 minimum today. Thanks to all the well-wishers, especially lorinda, who sweated me alot during HU matches, and was my good luck charm for a few of them. I hope i never see Jacks again.....
A LOTTA suckouts, at least $1600 directly in 3 outers hit on river vs me HU that would have ended/won the match for me, and getting AA cracked by KK both times i played vs. now, i sleep for many hours....

nice job dali, even though you lost a lil, i feel your pain.. every time i watched, you seemed to win 1st or 3rd (once 5th..).. very nice, though.. i get those kind of beat on party too, makes my $40 beats seem not so bad vs. your $400 beats..

Dali,

I stopped in to watch your marathon /images/graemlins/blush.gif too. Saw some of those horrible suckouts and I felt your pain. Instead of playing two tables today I played one and watched one of yours. Thanks for letting us know about the event and allowing us to search your name. Made finding you a lot more convenient. I noticed that you seemed to be up about .10 buyins during the first half but you ended up down (.02) in the end. I will be interested to hear what your analysis of the second half was like and why you think it tailed off.

Vern

allenciox
03-20-2004, 01:40 PM
Your accounting... just curious, when I do the math, I have you down more than $515:

buyins: 100*215=$21,500

9 firsts = $9000
12 seconds = $7200
12 thirds = $2400

total = $18,600

$18,600 - $21,500 = -$2900.

Do you get some kind of rebate, or did you (or I) figure wrong?

Daliman
03-20-2004, 01:59 PM
you figured wrong. You computed 3rd as worth $200 @; they're worth $400 @.

Daliman
03-20-2004, 03:14 PM
well, i started off bad, as i usually do for some reason, but right around game 20-35, i cashed in about 10 of 15, which put me at a high water mark of up about $1600. The early suckouts KK vs my AA were disheartening, but i tried to put them out of my head. After my nap, I felt like I was starting anew and was ready to crush, and was doing decent until the beats started getting more and more ludicrous, with several runner runnners and dominateds that had no business being in the pot, and although it affected my resolve, i dont think it affected my game too much other than me playing non-paired hands a bit more carefully vs. players i knew were unlikely to fold, which DID cost me in a couple of instances, but these were offset by me hitting a few big hands that they would not have called much for earlier when i saw their hands.
Also, somewhere in the middle, i won about 4 of 5 HU mutches to bring my 1st's and 2nd's close to even, but then i started getting a lot of 3rd's from a chip lead when someone made a crying call preflop 3 handed for their stack and either hit a 40/60, a dominated or a small pair held up, thus droppping MY big stack. LOtta 4th's also, because of people calling reraises w/ crap like KT and 66 when they had chips to fold the hand, and those were hitting/holding up alot too. It'd be different i guess if i had a loose/aggressive image, but I don't, and calling ANY of those hand vs my reraise is just plain wrong. I suppose i want those calls, but man, it woulda been nice if a few of those fell my way.....

A valiant effort. Not many would have the balls to try it. Far less would have the huevos to do it at $215. Sorry it didn't come out as well as you hoped, but you had, (and have) a lot of supporters. If you try it again, we'll be sweating with you.

Hey Daliman,

Congrats on making it all the way through - sorry the beats prevented your results from being better though.

Quick question, what's your take on the $200 games during the day vs night? Are they any tougher?

Daliman
03-22-2004, 05:15 PM
I definitely notice the night(usa time)games are looser. I had a lot of regulars earlier in the day, including probably 10+ games w/ Kirill Gerasimov in the field(if it's him, KirillG, and i think it is). Also, weekends much looser too.
