I just started using Poketracker. How many hands do I need before I can can accurately assess my hourly rate and contemplate moving up? 10,000? 50,000? 100,000?

When you're hourly rate is about 2BB/hour or more after at least 5000 hands then you can move up if your BR is big enough. You need a lot more hands before you can see if you play T9s properly.

Guido,

5000 hands is not even close to being enough hands. It is quite possible that he is losing player and is still winning 2BB/hour after 5000 hands.

If he wants to figure out how accurate his win rate is, he can do it using the info in this post (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=probability&Number=378970& fpart=1&PHPSESSID=) or read Gambling Theory and Other Topics by Malmuth.

I know but it seemed to me he wanted to use his BB/hour to determine when to move up or not. To determine if you're a winning player or not you need a lot more hands, I know. But when he is winning and he has built a BR which is big enough to move up. I say go for it. At least up to 3/6.
