In a 20.00 NL Multi on Party, after making it to the top 10%, and sitting UTG with Q Q, dumbass me bets half my chips. MP calls, and LP goes all in, back to me who figures
what the hell, calls. MP calls.
MP had A K and LP had A A, the flop is no good to any of us.
The funny part is the next day my Howard Lederer DVD on
No-Limit arrives and he specifically talks about how to
turn your pocket Queens into seven-duece offsuit. In early
position, do not go all in with Queens because only Aces
and Kings will call you, thus you may as well have played
7 2.
It was kind of neat to have just recently played this hand and have Howard talk about this exact play.
Anyone else ever go all in UTG with Queens? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi doggin,

I don't want to push in from EP on QQ unless my stack is such that I'm going to be committed to this hand regardless of the other action. If I have 12xBB or less, I'm probably going in, simply because I don't want to put a quarter of my stack out there and fold it to a reraise, and especially not on QQ. If someone has AA or KK, well, then at least I died on a good hand.

Otherwise, I'd rather not turn QQ into 72o.

Hi Cris, that's exactly where I was too with 10 x BB,
I pushed in half hoping to get the blinds and a smaller
stack or two to come along out of desperation.
Instead I bit a hog in the ass.
There are so many coin tosses in a multi to get to the
final table, It's like going through a battle zone or
something.
But I love it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi doggin,

There's no way you're laying down QQ with 10xBB left. It was just bad luck that you ran into AA.
