What a hose job. It should have been Florida A&M vs. Alabama State.

I'm afraid my team might be too tired to beat Kentucky now.

Mar 18 525 PRINCETON +12½-110
06:00 AM 526 TEXAS -12½-110

For some reason this line looks a little out of wack. Princeton still plays a zone right? Tough D, and then a fairly good set offense? Texas styles is heavy D and bang away, they don't score a ton of points so they normally only run away from teams that play poor D.

Thoughts?

I like that game as well. Here are the games I'm thinking about betting on, with the team I like in boldface:

Mar 18 519 MANHATTAN +7-110 +250
06:00 AM 520 FLORIDA -7-110 -300

Mar 18 523 AIR FORCE +8-110 +305
06:00 AM 524 NORTH CAROLINA -8-110 -365

Mar 18 525 PRINCETON +12½-110
06:00 AM 526 TEXAS -12½-110

Mar 18 529 UTEP +7-110 +250
06:00 AM 530 MARYLAND -7-110 -300

Mar 18 537 VALPARAISO +20½-110
06:00 AM 538 GONZAGA -20½-110

Mar 19 823 UAB +1½-110 +105
06:00 AM 824 WASHINGTON U -1½-110 -125

Mar 19 829 E TENNESSEE ST +10½-110
06:00 AM 830 CINCINNATI -10½-110

Mar 19 839 UTAH U +1½-110 +105
06:00 AM 840 BOSTON COLLEGE -1½-110 -125

Mar 19 843 RICHMOND +8-110 +300
06:00 AM 844 WISCONSIN -8-110 -360

At least Lehigh might win a game this way...

The line hasn't moved yet, but Murray St.'s point guard and small forward were arrested and booked on theft and drug posession yesterday. IL -7.5 is a steal and the line might close in double digits now.

The news didn't occur until afterwards. The story broke on a local affilite in the evening, several hours after the lines were up.

sorry about being a pain, but do you know if the arrest was made before the lines went up? i am just worried that when the line was made, the arrests had already happened.

thanks again,

They were arrested Saturday, but it wasn't public knowledge. The game is now off the board, this is a rare instance where the info was faster than the bookies.

Thanks again Clark, for the first time in my life I feel like one of the Vegas insiders/sharp betters. Where do you think the line will reopen if these 2 dont play?

Clarkmeister

I'm purely going off their message board and their season stats, but these two are #'s 4 and 5 in minutes per game on a team that essentially is only 7 deep, with the #8 player averaging about 10mpg.

They also are a team that likes to run and does very well when the score is high. So they will be trying to run with essentially only 5 players against a team that starts 3 guards and is the best fast-break team in the Big Ten. I think they get blown out of the gym.

The line? If they both are benched I'd guess 11-12. Wildbill would be a better man to ask. Now that the story has hit the national media, it becomes more likely that they sit. The one kid who is still on probation from a November pot arrest is almost certainly off the team. We'll have to see what happens to Chiles.

Press release forthcoming, but here is what the school's decision is:

Kelvin Brown: Suspended from team indefinately. Will not play,

Adam Chiles: Not suspended. Will play

Between the suspension and the distraction, I'd guess the line hits 9.5

Oh well, at least I was able to make some money by taking Florida A&M +4 in the second half.

The play in game sucks. Like that last at-large team has a chance anyways. Why not let teams like yours get their fair shot at getting creamed by the #1 seed. Bah, I feel for you. That's BS that you get in but don't "really" get in.

Homer (or anyone)-

When/Why did Lehigh change their nickname?

Did engineers (I am one) complain that negative stereotypes were being perpetuated?

I think dumbass arts and sciences and business people were complaining, not understanding that engineer meant train engineer, not Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/etc engineer.

I'm not sure that the name has officially been changed, btw.
