I was just wondering, cause it seems like you could use this
to an advantage in some ways..

What kind of a mix do you all prefer at a ten seat table?

I like there to be 9 fish.

What is the advantage of some good players? More predictability? I agree with the other replies that suggest the more fish, the better.

I prefer one good player at the table, assuming it's me.... /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Personally, my idea mix is probably 1 nutball (on my immediate right), 2-3 semi-aggressives and the rest calling stations and/or tight passives. I don't mind good players at my table if they are easy to read, but I try to avoid the tricky ones.

Whoa, that's a great thread. Thanks for linking it. In fact, I especially want to encourage people to continue cross-linking to other relevant posts in their messages. This really benefits those of us who can't keep up with what's going on in every forum.

Still not quite sure how a good player could improve a table. I think some cocktail of loose/passive, tight/passive, loose/aggressive should be able to give you a texture suited to your style, if that's what you want. But, aside from enjoying the greater challenge and learning through observation and other gentlemenly type activities, can someone explain how adding a good player to your table could be, you know, positive E to the V?

Hey Jason, good players aren't typically very easy to read.

Basically what I meant was I don't mind a tight player who plays straight forward poker, but prefer to avoid 2+2'rs.

How much irony is there in a guy calling himself 'webster', who can't spell? (I won't even mention the grammar)
