Upswing in dollars / bets / whatever you want. How "well" have you run, before it starting to head back downhill by natural statistical fluctuation? I'm trying to put my recent results in perspective.

Thanks,

Barring a few minor losses, I once won about 400 BBs in a couple of weeks (and I have limited time to play), before being brought back to earth. I don't even consider myself to be a super-great player. I Just couldn't sit for 5 minutes without winning a hand (so it seemed). Frankly my biggest flaw is probably timidity (as in weak-tight), which goes to show that I was catching some great flops/draws over and over (and I had lots of 2nd best hands along for the ride). I must say it was a good feeling while it lasted. I've had very small swings (except a -100BB downswing all in one day) along with a pretty small profit since then. Much more boring (and revealing that I do in fact have plenty of holes in my game). Cheers.

my 4th month of playing poker online i won almost every session for a solid month and convinced myself that i could continue crushing the low limits while seeing 40% of the flops because "i was so much better than them post flop". Yes i was playing full tables and yes i moved up to 2/4 prematurely the next month and had my butt handed to me. sometimes winning is the worse thing in the world for your game believe it or not. I actually had to relearn everything from the ground up again because i picked up so many bad habits.

Playing many hours each day at the 200 dollar single table tourneys, I've had huge swings in each direction. My best ever was in late December a few days after X-Mas this past year- I forget the exact results, but it was something like 10 tourneys entered, 7 wins, 2 seconds, and one loss. Won something like 6000 bucks that day.

Well one time a year ago I ran good for about 98.692 million dollars on party poker. Then I put it all in cd's and retired. Now I have a bankroll of about 5,000 and play 5-10 and some 20 dollar tournaments. But, for the most part I'm set up for life. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had a good day at the Bike a few years back. I was playing LLHE. I won $100 at 1/2, $200 at 2/4, and $240 at 3/6. that's 140 BB's in about 12 hours.

too bad it wasn't in $1000/$2000 game...

About a 1000BB up without a 50BB down-swing is the best I've done. But I would like to thank a dear friend of mine - Lady Luck...

I had a 100BB upswing at $1/2 over 700 hands at Party whilst clearing a $100 bonus...happy days.

The one I'm currently enjoying.

6200 hands / 17 session win streak / +425 BB's.

Never had anything remotely close prior to this.

104 BB over 5 Hours at the Borgata 3-6.

Had been on a run at PL100 on Empire, but that came to a dramatic end last night.....

Easily over 10000 BBs; oh, that's in low limit draw for the
last year or so!

Haven't had a losing week since 2002 and I hope that streak
never ends!

Mind you I haven't been playing very long, but I'm on one right now.

Monday night I had 37 in my account. Wednesday morning I have 164. (playing Party .5/1). I know that's not much of a run, or a very impressive run, but it's the best I've had- and it's fun.

playing long ago in montana two years without having but maybe one losing session.
and at major poker tournaments-- went the whole slim tournament three weeks without losing a day. then went to wsop and won for the first 17 days before a loser.
and i never took steroids.

Last month - I had a nice 670 BB upswing. This of course followed the hell that was January which was a -200 BB swing....go figure. So net +470 BB for two months. The 15/30 on party have high variance.........

Mini-runs, never had a long-term, week-after-week sustained rush.

At Commerce recently, playing 40-80 Omaha8 before the NLH tourney starts. Won about $4800 in about 50 minutes.

Foxwoods NLH super-satellite a few years ago, for their $5000 event. I was dealt the best hand preflop about 90% of the time for about 3 hours, and won all but one of them. I had AJ and chopped with A6. When we got to the final table, I think I had about 70% of all the chips. The prizes being paid were 1 seat, and $1000 each to positions 2-5. When we got to 5-handed, I had about 85% of the chips, and they all just agreed to give me the seat and take their $1000 right now, rather than play it out.

Most dramatic change in good fortune.

About 1997, I was in a $500 ($300?) limit holdem tourney at the Orleans Open. I lost about 2/3 of my stack during the first couple of levels. I then went on a rush that lasted to the final table, many hours later. We started the final table, and I had 55% fo the chips in play. My rush dramatically ended as I failed to win but one hand at the final table, even though I had the best starting hand almost every time I entered a pot. The only hand I won? Dealt AA in the big blind, and everyone folded. Finished 5th.

first time ever in CA. card room. (bike) started in the 1-2 limit with $40 10am worked my way up to 3-6 by noon ($100 up). played in a $20 buy in NL holdem tournament (1st tourney ever) took 4th ($200), moved to 6-12 won 3 racks. played in the nightly NL $20 tournament took 3rd ($700) played in the $1-2 nl cash game afterwards for 15 hours. 5pm next day cashed up $2100. as pitiful as it sounds that day changed my life.

oh and i've had only 2 losing sessions in the past 3 years in my weekly mini pot limit mixed home game.

I started making trips down to AC about once a month, maybe 6 years ago. I'd sit 15/30 and just GET HIT IN THE FACE BY THE DECK. I went down there once a month for about a year and by the end of the year I was playing up to 50/100 and was making a few grand during each trip. I was real professional about it, too, figuring that I was better off not driving down there any more (fatigue) so I'd fly down instead. It'd only cost me a few hundred bucks and I'd easily make that back by the increased time at the tables.

I actually never did cool off as far as AC was concerned (I won every weekend I went there) but eventually donated a great deal of $ to the nice folks at Foxwoods.

Now I mostly play online for low stakes but that one year taking money from Boris, Joe _________ (Taj 50/100 player) and the other mopes down there sure was fun.

And I should add that I knew much less about cards then than I do now. I don't claim to know all that much now, but I realize how little I knew then and how much of my success was just random luck. But it was fun playing badly and still winning, and watching the "pros" get bent out of shape.

They are idiots then, since they were already guanteed the $1000, and it was just a free role for them to try and get lucky and take you down for first...they were just giving you charity.

BTW, I bet you have a new dramtic change in good fortune, best run ever...

Oh, and sleepyjoeyt, how could you ever be winning a couple grand a month, be flying down to AC to play 50/100 and then now be content with playing low limit...I would get so bored..
