I've been playing with this guy on Party since about October. (S)he was pretty bad but has gotten gradually better since then. Anyways, I am playing at a loose semi-aggressive 5/10 ring game earlier tonight and I get 33 UTG. I limp, and it's folded around to Dough who raises. Dough is pretty aggressive and this basically means any pocket pair or any two face cards. The blinds fold and I call. Flop is Jxx, I check and it checks. At this point I put Dough on a flopped monster, because Dough would normally bet any 2 cards there. I prepare to check-fold the Turn when another blank hits, but Dough checks again. Hmmm. River pairs one of the blanks on the board, and now I put her on overcards and bet. Dough raises, and I figure I'll pay to see it, and Dough shows AK. Then, Dough proceeds to tell me how bad I am, yadda yadda yadda. I am an experienced warrior in the art of flaming, and Dough soon backs down, recognizing my prowess.

Anyways, anyone know "it"?

IWantUrDough = Bill Sampson, 33, Little Rock, Arkansas. Born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Bill was fed well by his parents Rich and Cindy Sampson. At the age of 18 and weighing over 340 pounds Bill accepted a full-ride scholarship to play football at the University of Arkansas where he studied Criminal Justice. After four years of All-American college football it was time for the NFL. Bill was drafted in the third round (pick 87) of the 1992 draft by the Green Bay Packers. Back in his home state of Wisconsin, life couldn't get any better for this born Cheesehead. But in his second year of Offensive Line duties for the Packers, and his first start, he suffered a major concussion that would bring his blossoming career to a halt. A disgrace to his family and friends who thought he was being a wuss for listening to his doctors and quitting the game, he retreated to his college town of Little Rock, and took up a job as a prison guard on the outskirts of town.

Nowadays Bill spends his time listening to heavy metal, browsing for internet porn, and berating other players at Party Poker.com when he takes pots from them.

FYI I know who everyone on Party Poker is so if you have their screen name just let me know and I will tell you their story.

Now, while jazzcat98's response was right on the money in a general sense (what almost anyone would think while reading original post), it lacked panache and was not really worth reading itself (though some points earned for brevity). But Breakevenplayer's response was a well-crafted bit of humor: nice deadpan bit of ridiculousness that saves the rest of us from having completely wasted our time clicking on the damn thread in the first place. This should be our ideal: posts that are either informative or entertaining or both. And kudos to all who can, by wit and style, rescue other people's mundane posts from the slagheap of oblivion by adding some +ev for those of us who can't resist clicking on nearly every damn thread.

And while I'm at it, if you feel you must post "Party Down?" threads, please date and time the damn things in the subject line to keep them from being even more completely pointless.

Boogie Down,

Frau

PS Author's overuse of "damn" self-noted. Will try to vary my relatively non-offensive curses better in the bloody future. I keep meaning to get in the habit of using "accursed".

Hi fraubump,

So sorry to have wasted your time with my thread. How about next time you try not clicking on it? The thread was entitled "Anyone know IWantUrDough on Party?" Since you don't know IWantUrDough, odds are, the thread will pretty much be worthless to you.

The last time I posted a thread like this, I was asking if anyone knew akshawnd on Party, and it turned into a pretty entertaining thread for me and a couple of other people. And, as you pointed out, Breakevenplayer managed to make it funny, while I was also able to see whether or not anyone else had had any experiences with IWantUrDough. I'm happy, breakevenplayer is happy, and you can be happy as well by just never reading another one of my posts again. Or at least private message me if you are so discontent, instead of bumping my post back to the top where other people will have to read my "mundane posts".

Oh, and as far as the Party Down? issue is concerned, you can look at the date and time at which it was posted and figure it out for yourself. Again, my apologizes for spamming your forum, oh mighty King of the Zoo,

-Brian

I have about 2500 hands with Dough and I would say your read is right on the money. I'm surprised she (he?) didn't bet either the flop or the turn.

You're dead right and I was thinking the exact same thing. It isn't like this thread was titled "Pre-flop strategy that is guaranteed to add 2 big bets per hour to your win rate!" Prepare yourself for the posts attempting to justify the crummy behavior and/or accusing you of having no sense of humor.

I've played many, many hours with "Dough". Your read is about right, but I really doubt she'd raise w/ "any" pair there, maybe 77 or above. She's alright, nothing special. Plays about the same as any decent regular in those games.

As for this hand in particular, I think you both played it poorly.

And though this is the Zoo, I will ask the inevitable: "Why flame?"

What is Ulysses's post about, is it supposed to be a joke? If so, I don't get it.

You're right. I'm wrong. Apologies. Was so tickled by Breakevenplayer's post that I took an inconsiderate tack in praising it.
