I've lurked for a while but now I'm ready to come out and start posting.

My question is about money vs skill, particularly online. Playing 3 $3-$6 tables at Party vs 1 $5-$10 table on Stars for example.

I don't see how you can ever learn enough to move up eventually to $10-$20 while playing 3 tables at once. Also being an American Internet poker faces an unsure future so if we have to go back to casinos having moved up to 10-20 looks like the safer way to go if you want a substantial income.

I've seen both subjects but never tied together. For those that could lose internet poker in a year or so does this factor into whether you go for the money or develop the skill.

I go for the money since I wouldn't want to be B&M professional anyway.

What don't you like about BMs?

Too many B&M related expenses ( gas, food, tips etc. ) , too bad for health (sitting in a chair for a long time is bad for my back, lots of junk food etc.) , having to play higher limits, poker crowds not being the most fun people to be around (my personal opinion) and so on. Also unless you have a huge bankroll and can play high limits ( aka 75-150 and up) it's almost impossible to make a decent living this way.

Live poker is dominated by less aggressive idiots. if you can beat .50/1.00 you should do fine in a 10/20 live.

Online poker won't become illegal in America.

possibly not, but funding it could become prohibitively difficult.
