I got a nice new Dell 2001FP recently; for the most part I really like it. BTW, a nice thanks to all those who have recommend it.
My problem is that every so often the screen blinks off for about half a second then comes back on; it's the same blink that occurs when you change the screen size (or very similiar). So far, I've fiddled around with the display setting properties to no avail. I've also updated my video card driver: ATI 9100 Radeon (if that helps diagnose the problem). The problem doesn't seem to exist with the vga port, just with the dvi port. I would just use the vga mode, but everything looks more crisp in the dvi mode. I think my next step maybe to update the bios; that was one of the suggestions of the troubleshooter. Anyone able to give me an idea whether this is the proper next step to take or am I overlooking something else? If this is the next thing I should do, then can someone please give me the info on how to do this.
Another observation, I've noticed occassionally on the desktop, in an area where nothing is running, is that something looks like it just popped up and was minimized quickly. Is this something to be concerned with?
Thanks for any assistance in advance

P.S. I'm going to sleep now. I'll check in some time tomorrow morning to address followup questions, if there are any.
