I've had a good couple months at the tables and I have some money to burn. Can someone recommend a quality LCD monitor that has 1600x1200 resolution?

This is what I'm looking for:
1600x1200
somewhere in the 1200 dollar range or less
Must be able to play movies well.
If plays games well, that's a huge plus too.
Any kind of manufacturer dead-pixel guarantee would be nice.

I know you guys are LCD freaks, so I'd appreciate any further advice as well.

Dell 2001FP

I have 2 of the 18" versions and love it. (1800FP)

The 2001FP is pretty much the best out there for 21". Great for gaming and movies. I'm thinking of getting 2 of them soon.

dell 2001fp, and it's really not even close. 16ms response time, 24bit, usb2 hub, often goes for $750 at dell small business.

I'm just going to go ahead and throw my hat into the ring too. The 2001FP, price/performance-wise, is by far the best. I'm saving my bankroll up for one.

Your retinas will thank you.

Would I need a special video driver card for that LCD monitor?. I have a 21" normal monitor and it's hurting my eyes.

I'm not sure about movies or games, but the samsung 213T (21.3") was recommended to me here a couple weeks ago. I bought it, and I love it! Great for 4 tables. a little rough on my eyeballs but I haven't screwed around with color adjustments much yet.

The price was 1200- 100 rebate +100 for 3 year full waranty at best buy, so right in your range.

You might find a lot of information by searching my posts back to about 2 weeks ago. I asked a similar question and got tons of feedback.

I'm thinking about buying an LCD monitor as well. Does anyone have any suggestions for the $500 range?

When will reputable 21" LCD'S come down to ~$750 ?

That's when I'll get rid of all my CRT's.I would like to buy 2-3 new 21" or 23" LCD's for less than $800 a piece. The Planar Hung has look nice! Prices have come down alot over last 2 years..but I just read an article on latops that says laptop LCD's are not currently going down in price at the rate they have over the last 18 months.I know they are a different beast than desktop LCD's but
what's the outlook on LCD pricing??

Who are the quality names for LCD's?

I always bought Sony Trinitron CRT's.

I have been using a combination of 3-5 monitors for trading stocks and playing poker for the last 6 years.I use all 21" LCD's.I am so used to them that there is no way I could use an 18" monitor.

Thnx for any advice

There isn't really much in the $500 range. You either spend around $200-$400 for an excellent 19 or 21" CRT, or $750 for a Dell 20" LCD.

I don't know of any LCDs smaller than 20" that would do 1600x1200, and if you have to settle for lower resolution you shouldn't bother (if you're concerned about poker specifically).

I have 2 Dells and absolutely love them.

I'm sure your avatar has received many compliments RollaJ!

When my wife walked by while I was reading one of your posts I had to scroll down to hide it though -lol but I think she caught me looking anyway.
Is that who I think it is ?

Hard to recognize with all of those clothes on but I think it might be Shana Hiatt? She appears way overdressed!

Well, I ordered the 2001fp Sunday, it arrived at work today and I ran home to try it out.

It's beautiful. Simply beautiful.
