I don't know if this poll is a good idea, or not. Other than a thinly disguised attempt at marketing, I don't think he has violated the terms of use. This forum is about sharing information and discussion - which is what is mostly happening.

Also, I have no idea if Mason & Mat will do it. Still, I wanted to ask the question.

It's just that this guy is just pissing me off.

you have given him twice as much attention by continuing to start new threads about him and keeping his threads bumped. i assume you two work together. If not then he needs to put you on the payroll.

No question - this board is here to promote poker and of course 2+2 books.

This guy is trying to destroy online poker (I don't think bots will though). He is a detriment to the profession and is spamming, veiled or not.

haha... sadly, I agree with you.

why would you ban him? If I can program a winholdem bot to play the way I want it could probably make a lot of money exploiting poor play of other players, and it would never go on tilt, or play too loose on a whim.

My bot would like to challenge your bot /images/graemlins/grin.gif

(Ps. I dont even know if it is customizable)

I'm sorry you're offended. However, your attack is unjustified. Perhaps you think that just sticking your head in the sand and pretending bad things and bad people don't exist is enough to make them go away?

It is not. It is a constant fight, one that (sadly) never ends.

I'm not talking about banning bots. I'm talking about banning the poster.

I know that I would not want you banned RollaJ. I just have to check out your posts to see that latest pic, although you did have a bad week for pics not to far back.

Doesn't he mostly just promote his product? This seems like clear Spam. I don't care if he's banned or not, usually I stay away from his posts/posts he's involved in because they get incredible long.

The pictures would be better if the forum were not moderated, I apologize. As for Ron Jeremy, you must pay homage to any guy who can look like that and make it in porn. He should sue over the new show Average Joe, as he was the pioneer. Of course he does have a tremendous Schwantz

I know you were talking about banning the poster, not the program (you cant ban a program here).
I do however feel that people who are not breaking any rules or trying to insult/harm others, should be allowed to post as they feel. Certainly about something both poker AND internet related.

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend finding and renting the video documentary "The Legend of Ron Jeremy". It is really very interesting and entertaining. Don't miss the outtakes either.

There are sections of the documentary that follow the Hedgehog in his various travels, often through airports. Ironically my one encounter with him was in Hartsfield in Atlanta where I met him sitting on the floor in a concourse walkway by himself. I was with my boss and wasn't sure whether knowing who Ron Jeremy was would be a good thing, career-wise, or not but I chanced it and Ron (and my boss) turned out to be very cool. He is really a nice person, not conceited at all.

My local Blockbuster had it--that's where I rented it. I looked it up on imdb and the actual title is Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy.

You don't think that marketing a program that violaes the "information available to one is available to all" rule isn't hurting people?

I disagree.

The Winholem guy is a real jerk Ban him and hell just change his name. Why not just make a Bot forum for bot jerks to spam in. Mat tell this guy to keep his comments to one fourm or you'll ban him.

Ban him....?? Do you think he is the only Bot guy out there...There are lots of Poker Bots out now and lots more right around the corner....Lots of them.....Winholdem I have never used and won't, but this guy is telling you exactly what he is doing and shows you what the others won't. Wake up......Bots are here to stay...you better get a plan for online poker....it is changing all of the time...5 years ago none of use played online and look at it now...down the road it is going to change alot....IMO

IMHO you are correct. Winholdem is probably only one of many pokerbots playing online today. WH is just the only one to go commercial/public.

We poker players pride ourselves on our intelligience and ethics, we're so smart we don't need a bot's help and using one is just unethical right ... but who among us has never wished for some secret edge over our opponents, something that would allow us to win at will? Whether or not this WH bot is any good in default mode or can eventually beat champions if programmed by a champion is a question that may never be answered. A champion would never admit to defeat at the hands of a bot or admit to using one. But regardless of how detestable some of us think bots are, they are here and there will only be more of them in the future.

So what do we do about it?
