In all seriousness, I doubt there is much significant difference when it comes to edge between the first 16 players who get taken. And yes, things are so close that 8 and 9 is probably quite better than 1 and 16.

Edited to add: with Robk's double-punch of soda and Gift of Gab, this will be tough to beat. The good part is that I own Gift of Gab and he can never beat me, but that still leaves two tough players to deal with.
