I'm new to the board and am having a hard time following some of the posts because I'm not familiar with all of the terms or abbreviations. Is there a glossary somewhere I can familiarize myself with?

BB:Big Blind or Big Bet depending on how it is used in sentence.
When someone posts I'm up 5BB is that 5 Big Blinds? So in a 50.1 game where the Big Blind is 50 cents, 5 BB would be 2.50?
I know most people put their results up like this, just a minor issue that's confusing me that I want to resovle. Can anyone clarify for me?
Thanks

No...if someone posts that they are up 5 BBs they are up five big bets not 5 big blinds. So if your up 5 BBs at .5/1 your up five bucks.

I think you'd see BB as Big Blind more in tournament discussion (and no-limit tournament discussion at that, where Big Bet doesn't really apply in the same way). It's mostly talked about when you're the short stack and don't have too much time to be choosy.
