Free coffee - I took a hot chocolate, as I am not a coffee drinker.

Last year I went 0/27. Bad beat.

I'll try today on my way in.

I bought two when I got to school, one for me and one for a friend. We both missed the flop. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'll play another hand in an hour or so.

Im from Halifax and I used to go to Rama everytime I visited T.O...but last week when I was in T.O for my interview I tried Brantford for the 1st time. Out of curiousity, what deters you from Brantford?

There is a coffee chain across Canada called Tim Hortons. Canadians are crazy about this place. They have an annual prize giveaway around this time of year for about a month. What you do is roll up the rim of a coffee/tea up and underneath reveals a prize or "please try again".

oh a Coffee chain, so Starbucks hasn't taken over yet?

Starbucks is here too but can't handle Tim Hortons. People just love it.

Timmy Ho's is more a doughnut place than anything else.

Krispy Kremes are cement blocks in comparison.

0 for 2.

Although, I'm inclined to count the Boston Creme doughnut as a victory. Like heaven.

Listening to Derringer on the Q (Q107 Classic Rock) this morning, Country Style has a similar promotion, but according to their CEO, every cup wins something.

I can't decide whether or not the EV sacrifice is made up by my utility gained in sheer excitement everytime I ask for a medium hot chocolate.

Would you rather flop the nuts every hand at a penny-ante home game or play in a good, but still somewhat challenging 100/200 game?

I think you know the answer.

Ray Zee
03-05-2004, 12:02 PM
of course everyone would rather flop the nuts all day at any stakes. and who the heck is derringer. maybe we need a special canuck forum so the rest of us dont have to deciper the posts we are reading. and why are you so excited over a doughnut.

Gamblor

of course everyone would rather flop the nuts all day at any stakes

Does all day include the point where people begin to fold to any flop and any preflop action, realize you have horseshoes up your a**, and the game breaks up, possibly forever?

I wouldn't find that very fun after the 10th time, even if I was winning.

Hence, sacrifice EV for utility. I suppose your utility function is more sensitive to changes in wealth than mine.

For example, if you have a function U = W^2+L (Where W = wealth and L=value of leisure time), then mine must be U = W+L^2.

Or something to that effect. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

After going 0/3 on Thursday, I drove to Ottawa that night and then on to Montreal. I just got back into town now. The trip was great, but I managed to go 0/2 in Ottawa and 0/3 in Montreal.

So, this year I'm currently 0/8. Man I'm running bad.

Starbucks side note: Timmy Ho-ho's is huge out here, but not the case in the West -- Starbucks and Blendz had a dirty turf war in Vancouver a few years ago, which was ended by a carving up of the downtown core and installation of multiple locations on the same corner. Tim Hortons are far and few between.

Hot Chocolate late last night in a drunken stupor.

I did something I never do (unless it's insignificant stakes), and played drunk.

I busted.

Mix things up with a Hot Chocolate or tea every now and then.

You should be good in all types of RUTR, don't limit your potential.

At worst the change of pace will keep your mind sharp for the next time you put $1.50 down in front of you.

0/6.

Was at Univ. of Western Ontario (London, ON) and had a conversation with the girl behind the counter, I missed a $1000 winner two days earlier in that store.

Makes sense, there's a Timmy Ho's every block there.

How was the Grad Formal?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm just a second year, so I did not go...my time will come. I went to a going away party instead and intoxicated myself into oblivion.

Which, from what I gather, is about the same as what everyone that was at the Grad Formal did, except they were wearing suits.

I hear it was good. The cops were called. *shrug*

0/8 is a dream for me. Including last year, I'm something like 0/44.

I'll start mixing it up with an afternoon tea or hot chocolate and report back later.

Had a great run driving up to Peterborough today, coffee and tea for me and the wife, won a muffin and a coffee. Didn't win on the free coffee on the return trip so that puts me at 2/11... not too shabby.
