size of roll vs. size of buy-in

I'm aware of the standard ratio of roll:limit for standard ring games, but am curious to know an adequete ratio for tournament play.... For instance, how big should my roll be for say, online $10 tournaments, and how big would the roll have to be until it's ok to play $20 buy-in tournaments, and so on.

20 times the buy-in should be more than enough.
The same for the next levels.
