Its rare that I stumble into some corner of the internet I haven't heard about that occupies several hours of my time but this one did. Interesting stuff..

Since I can't seem to find any firm reference to the actual date of his initial postings despite looking rather hard, I can only conclude that this was simply a very elaborate hoax perpetuated by a pissed-off florida democrat that really took off on evening of November 7th 2000.

Alright, so I'm bored while waiting some equipment to arrive in my lab, so I checked out this Titor nonsense. In my first 10 min, I found a photo that's obviously a photoshop fake.

see:

Section 10 (IIRC) shows a laser pointer whose beam is being "bent" by the induced gravitational field distortion from his time machine. There's a guy holding a cigar, so that one can see the laser beam. One problem. This field distortion is occuring in the same physical area as this guy's arm. The unit is presumably below this arc (one could imagine a field radiating out from a single point, causing a circular distortion of the field) and this is close to where this guy's arm is sitting, undisturbed. Yeah, right. Also, the plumes of cigar smoke also look undisturbed. Unlikely. If this thing is bending light, it's gonna really f*ck this dude's arm up, and his cigar smoke will do something funky, too. They say a picture is worth 1000 words... here's about 150 or so that rule out this entire hoax.

However, there are some topics worthy of thought. Prion diseases do have huge latency periods, and it's conceivible that we meat eaters are all going to go insane in 25 years. Of course, I still eat ground beef, but I DO like to gamble...

Also, the patriot act is a real sore point for me, but that's enough for another set of posts that I don't feel like writing.
