I just found another gem hand, had almost every hand before this one in my session.
Was my last hand before I was leaving the table, and I was actually going here to post a question for GM, quite enjoyable actually /images/graemlins/smile.gif

You played it too slow and you have too much in your bankroll. May I please have some?

Pre-flop: Reraise.
Flop: Bet.
River: Bet.

You had Qs 5s for goodness sake. Your only thought should have been how to extract money from all the suckers playing anything that isn't Granny Mae.

Mae is back in action and posting on the forum. Because of this all mystical powers surrounding the grannie mae are hereby revoked...null and void. I suggest you start playing the "Thythe" which is of course 96o. Good luck with that.

Ulysses, can I enquire as your strategy sitting down with a full 600+ BB bankroll? Particularly in Mid-Limit games.
Aren't you immediately labeling yourself as, most likely, a very competent player who is capable of *winning* (or at the very least *holding on to*) that amount of money?
What can be gained by making people think you are probably a solid player completely not out of his depth, when that is actually the truth?

I've never sat down with my full bankroll, and wouldn't for fear of giving away too much about my bankroll (and something of my abilities).
It's like those who sit down in Mid Limit games with towards 100BB's in change, and you just *know* (from their poor play) that that is both all they have in their 'bankroll', and all they think they need.

I don't understand a value in doing so. If there is one.

Actually, I consider these people to be obnoxious usually, and often losing, gambling players. It could be an effective image if you wanted to portray it. I do it on UB sometimes when I'm bored. Feels like people want to mix it up with me but that could be because I suck.

What on earth makes you think that is my full Party bankroll? /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Only good players think about things like that. I think most bad players are actually inspired to take all your money.

I don't think there's much value besides entertainment value, but I don't think it's very likely to hurt either.

In this specific case, I sat down w/ $2000 as usual. After a while, the guy w/ $7k was ripping on one of the other players for making a lot of horrible calls. A lot of fish-abusing was going on. I believe the specific one that triggered the extra $$$ was "OK, idiot, HU NL anytime" - directed at a horrible player. I then popped another $10k onto the table and said "OK, sounds good to me! Where do we play?" and changed the conversation to end the fish-trashing that was going on. Things settled down soon after and everyone played nice for the most part. Until the fishiest fish started to lose all of his money and started cursing everyone out.... Good times.

I can't edit anymore. Obviously I don't think of our akshawnd that way, but it could be he's trying to portray that image, which certainly wouldn't surprise me after reading the stuff he puts in chat sometimes about random books.

akshawnd's current schtick is mainly waiting for someone to start cursing out the table and then start abusing them (in a perfectly civil manner, of course) mercilessly.
