20 minute into the $500+30 and I find I can't connect any longer. The rest of the net seems fine, just Stars not responding.

I've had occasion to mail support@pokerstars 3 times in the last two weeks and they haven't answered a single one of my mails.

Have I lost $530 now on top of the other recent losses that they won't speak to me about?

Disgruntled Spike.

Yeah i'm in the $530 too and can't do [censored], and they the server completely screwed me at a "high-speed" 30-60 table.

i'm guessing they didnt pay whatever hackers that threatened them with DOS attacks. anyhow, their customer support not answering you is weird, if i were you i'd check your spam folder as it might have ended up in there. they are very good at answering customer support emails.

Party downn too, 5m right after start of $360k guaranteed tourny.

It wouldn't surprise me if the DDOS attackers who have been extorting the sportsbooks would also target the poker sites. The poker sites have much more bandwidth so would be very interesting to see the results!

I'm in a tourney at UB. Same situation, and there's another thread here saying Paradise is having a similar problem.

So it doesn't seem to be site-specific.

Stars' ISP suffered connection issues at about 16:35 ET. Hands in progress continued, with disconnected players receiving all-in protection. The clock was stopped for purposes of blind increases and breaks. The tourney is now running about 18 minutes behind schedule. Level 4 started at 17:40:10 ET.

As someone else pointed out, Stars customer support is usually excellent at answering emails. Maybe they are going into your spam folder? Are you able to receive hand histories from Stars?

The game moves faster, mostly because players are given less time to act. Lee Jones posted here explaining it in detail; search this forum for the phrase "Lee Jones"; that should turn it up. If it doesn't, search on "high-speed" and then "high speed".

For a while I had the chip lead. And then...

I got AJo in middle position and made a standard sized raise hoping to steal, ready to fold to a reraise but not too unhappy about my hand if I got a caller.

I got a caller.

The flop came J high rainbow which I liked quite a lot so so I decided to put the caller to a decision for all his chips. He called in a trice and showed pocket JJ to take most of my stack away.

Did I play this wrong?

Short stacked now (relatively) I made a standard sized raise again with TT in late position and got one caller to my right.

The flop came with a T in it so I pushed in. I forget the amounts, sorry. The caller did what callers do and then went on to make a runner-runner flush sending me out in 183rd place :O(
