View Full Version : Too many bonuses, my Empire mini-plan

I'm all bonused out.

I hate limit holdem, (actually this has improved to dislike now) and all month I've had to play limit to keep up to speed with bonuses.

I'm bored of them, so for the Empire one, to make the time go quicker, I have a mini challenge.

Start: 15BB* at each of four tables.

Rules: Lose 15BB at a table, close the table. get a big enough roll at one table for 15BB at the next level, move up a level.

Moving down: There is no moving down.

Reopening tables: I have two extra lives. (When i thought this was 1000 hands, the 15BB figures were 25BB and I had no extra life)
After this I cannot open a new table unless I get down to one table of 1/2 or lower.

*I will actually put 40BB on the table because I want to be able to cover any bet, If I complete a hand with less than 25BB on the table, the table will be closed.

For anyone as bored as me, I shall be posting 30 minute updates after I begin.

Lori

Note: Anyone thinking of trying this on a steadier level should use 25BB increments, but I fancy a considered gamble.

Ignore me. I see crock posted it right below. 500 hands is a joke. Although I never play on party anymore so maybe with server crashes, its not.

for the love of god, when are people going to stop with these stupid "starting over challenges"????? I'm so tired of seeing good winning players doing this stuff. I just don't get it. Who comes up with this stuff? How does the thought process go exactly???

"I know, I'm making $20-25 an hour EASILY by crushing 3 3/6 Party tables at once. So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to cash out all but $50 of my account and start over playing .50/1.00. And then when I get my bankroll back up to $200, I'm going to play 1/2 until I get to $400..."

you people are crazy.

I am not a good limit player, 2/4 is about my maximum anyway.

Im utterly burned out for limit, so I thought I'd spice up this bonus a little.

If I were to play 2/4, I'd have to play two tables for a day, and all i really want to do is jump in some multi's.

That being said, I'm not passing up a shot at $100 bonus, burned out or not, so I just fancied making it less dull.

I too am working off numerous bonuses and I am getting a bit sick of the chore that is limit HE, so i'm mixing things up a bit. PL08 at UB, limit 08 and limit HE at Paradise, sit and go's at Stars and NLHE at Empire/Party.

Just an idea.

This is an Empire bonus, It doesnt matter what limit you are playing, just the number of hands

Im not good enough to play four 2/4s at once, so for hourly rate my choice is four small tables or two where im trying hard at a decent level.

I wanted the 'burn the bonus off' option to be vaguely more interesting.

I dont believe for a second that you cant beat 4 party 2/4s

Soooooooo what were the final numbers

Thanks to those that dropped by.

The whole session was only made interesting by the fact that I was constantly writing updates, changing tables and generally mucking about (and mucking hands too, 750 or so hands @ 5% won and 23% flop)

Anyway:

In dollars this time:

1: -$7.25 (This table never went + or - 15BB in over 3 hours)

2: +16.75 went to table 6: +11.25 total: +$28

3: -18.5 went to table 8: +16 (in 18 mins) -> 9: +9.5 total: +7

4: -16 -> 5: +16.75 ->7: -17.25 total -16.5

total +$11.75 +$100 bonus =$111.75 for 3 hours 15 mins

"total +$11.75 +$100 bonus =$111.75 for 3 hours 15 mins" Thank god for bonuses.

BTW, according to PT, how much did you pay in rake?

My PC would die if I let it near PT.

I know it was probably a joke (i think), but I read in a thread that someone said you were Peter Costa. I found this article to be very interesting.

I understand. I didn't really mean you, but I see it so much lately and I don't get it. The small/micro stakes forums are loaded with these "challenge" posts. And even middle and high limit players like Brian and Ulysses have talked about doing it too.

No offense taken, I was playing four tables at the time if I was blunt (Actually I'm always blunt let's be honest)

It's just that many of us, at whatever limit, need something new to keep the mind from completely locking up and a challenge of sorts is a way to keep fresh.
