It seems there has been more instability at the sites than usual lately. Party in particluar... Though UB has had it's issues....
Is it just me? Are these just growing pains (in the case of party) or is this those DDoS attacks I been hearing about?
I suppose this would be bad publicity for the gaming sites to admit they are weathering hacker attacks.
ANyone have any REAL insight into this? Just a coincidence?
from and enduser standpoint how could we tell if it was an attack? I realize at first there would just be NO response as the servers are overwhelmed.. I would assume thier first reaction is at the router/firewall or something to mitigate the problem by blocking some obvious IP ranges.. etc. and restoring minimal laggy service?
