I have a long weekend and plan on making a trip or two. Just curious as to who else might be there.

I will be going to Foxwoods for the first time in April. Im from Baltimore. Just curious to know if they offer holdem as low as 1-2. My girl friend might be interested in playing that low shes new to the game. Thanks.

The lowest Hold'em at FW is 2/4. It is rare to find lower stakes in a card room/casino.

I've been playing the 5/10 kill lately. I know Joe typically plays the 10/20, but will play the 5/10 if he doesn't feel like the 10/20 or it has poor game selection.

Just curious how you determine quality of the game selection. Do you guys scout out the tables looking for a loose one before you sit down? Or do you just wait to see what you get when you're seated?

What I like to do is take the seat offered and then immediately put my name on the transfer list. That way if I don't dig the game I can go to another table of the same limit and see if its better. If you like it, stay. It's good to keep your options open, just talk to the floorman.

The lists are normally long enough that you can watch the games and get a feel for how they are. Of course, if you see the known donators at the tables, it only takes 1.5 sec

I can only speak for myself, but generally I can tell after I've been in the game for 2 orbits if it's a game I want to stay in. As Barry said, if the lists are long, I can watch. Also, I've played quite a bit the last couple weeks, and have come to recognize a few friendly faces /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll be there on Sat playing either 20/40 HE or the pot limit game. PM with your cell or something and maybe we can meet up. I used to go down every or every other weekend but I kind of busy these days. I just pulled a 30hr shift and am looking forward to having the weekend off.

I'm always interested in metting 2+2er's.

count me in as another new 2+2'er who'll be down there. i'll be there on sunday to meet up with my family to celebrate my dad's birthday with dinner there. i expect i'll be playing some poker - probably either 2/4 or maybe 5/10 if i'm feeling bold.

yow! foxwoods has stopped holding their weekend tournaments.

According to the current issue of foxwoods' tournament talk (http://www.foxwoods.com/uploaded_images/BD243A6A-0F2E-4A58-A59C-2FBC8E10B8C7/February%202004%20Tournament%20Talk.pdf) (link goes to a pdf file):
"Effective February 2, 2004, the Saturday and Sunday morning tournaments will no longer be held. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accomodate the overwhelming number of guests who wish to play in these events. We are routinely turning away 150 to 200 guests each Saturday and Sunday. In our view it is a much greater disservice to our guests to continue to run these tournaments, knowing that we are unable to accomodate everyone who wishes to play. We would like to thank everyone who supported these tournaments and we hope you continue to play in our room"

It also looks like several of the previously "weekly" tournaments have become bi-weekly or monthly, like the monday evening limit tournament.

I'm there one day out of every weekend at least. I'm usually also there on a couple of weeknights. I usually play 20-40 HE. In response to the earlier question about choosing games at Foxwoods. You don't really have to do that anymore except at 20-40 HE on weeknights. And that's only sometimes.
Because of the popularity of the WPT there are now so many people who come down to play HE that virtually every game is good. By good I mean, has suckers, is loose, or has the potential for a good player to make alot of money. When I first started playing HE at Foxwoods 3 years ago. There would be 1 game of each limit going on the weeknights if you were lucky. On the weekends there would be 2 of everything, now the place is jammed. Jammed with new faces that have deep pockets and very little live experience. It's the wonder of it all
