I'm thinking he has to have either a straight or flush and my tens aren't going to fly. Afterwards I was thinking that if I had a 10 and decent kicker in his spot, I probably would have played the hand the same way. Should I have called down? Played this hand any differently?

I think you should 3-bet the flop. Then when that turn card falls, bet and fold to a raise. I would not fold to a turn raise if a blank fell.
