Party 30+3 NL sng, middle of level 5. I double up on an unimproved AK's giving me the chip lead 4 way. ME 3000, 2 players approx. 2500, player 4, SIXTEEN! Now starts my string of unplayable hands, but who cares right? Well Mr. 16 doubles up several times and triples up from 300 to 900.

I'm sure you can guess the rest, I managed to steal the BB from the SB once. 16 was to my right and was never raised or called in the BB so he just kept growing. level 8 he knocks me out in 4th place.

I'm in shock!

On a sidenote Today was the day I decided to make the jump from 10+1 to 30+3 for good, and this was my first shot in my new game. Is it a sign? I don't really believe in such sh!t, but I wont be shocked if big foot steals my next party check out of my mailbox

Not to brag, by any means, but I've been in 5th place with T30 on Level 5 before, and come back to win the SnG. It happens... Especially sucks, though, when it happens to you.

BTW- I'm thinking about making the jump from SnG 10+1 to 30+3. Are the two much different?

This thread has some good discussion about this.

both pretty close as far as skill. maybe a few less pure maniacs and a few more pure rocks.

And I'm not so sure about "it happens". I've played somewhere around 1000 sng's, and have been screwed with big leads, and made big comebacks, and seen a lot of wild stuff, but never a 16 stack knocking out a 3000 stack single handidly.

If you bankroll can support them, I strongly recommend trying to get to the $50+5s as soon as possible.

Nottom, how do these compare to $30+3? Why the rush?

skip the 50$ singles. either 30 or 100. 50 is a bad game, bad proportion of rocks/fish/good players.

I have seen it many times. It's not uncommon to see someone win 8 allin in a row.

I may be in the minority but I agree. I used to play the $50 games and they were soft as downy but then I found a bunch of solid rocks in my game. It might be just my sample size but I decided to play multiple $30 games or single $100 games.

I think the extra 200 chips at Party make a big difference. Although people may be right that a lot o the better players have zeroed in on that limit in the past few weeks.
