That "news" is already several days old and Kerry's denied it. So unless someone comes up with some evidence, it's a dead issue. At least as far as the mainstream press is concerned. Rush and his gang will be talking about it until the election, and for another four years if Kerry is elected.

I'm tagging this reply to your post Andy - mainly as retribution for the distinct possibility that the Yanks will ruin the Mariners chances at getting to the WS this year. Anyway, this is an old story and I have no idea if it is true - not that it matters – the point of the story is what counts.

In LBJ's early years (state elections?) he wanted to accuse one of his rivals for public office of being a Pigfu*ker. His advisors told him that this was ridiculous and that no one would believe it. He reportedly said 'so what, that's not the point – let’s make him deny it ’.
