Hello all! Just got done playing 5-10 at my local casino and wanted to post a hand.

Players involved are utg who is a calling station
Utg+1 is weak tight
CO and SB are not to tricky and play fairly decent hands

I dont remember all the details, but do remember all the important stuff.

So I have AKo in the BB.

UTG and +1 both call
CO raises
SB and I call

Then utg reraises called to SB who caps it and I call

Just to note utg limp reraised several times and I recalled him showing down 76s earlier with one of the limp reraises.

The small blind also almost always capped it if it came 3 bets back to him.

Flop A K x rainbow

sb chks, i bet, call, call, raise, sb folds, i 3 bet and all call.

Turn was a blank

I bet and all call

River was another blank and there were no st8's or flushes possible.

I bet and the Co thinks for a few moments and mutters he is probably beat, but calls anyway. He shows AJo.

Reason I posted this is because the CO said nh even though I played it poorly due to me not raising preflop. I just wondered what some of you guys thought about it. I'll post my thoughts on not raising later.

I have no problem with you not raising pf. I hate your position with that particular hand. AKs I raise without thinking about it, but with AKo I would just call. Calling also helps in disguising your hand. The rest of the hand is pretty straight forward and I play it the same way. Others will probably carve me up for being a wuss PF though.

I would have gone for a check-raise on the flop. I don't have a problem with you not raising pf either as it disguises your hand and gives you more options on the flop.

Steve,

Why would you checkraise? To make the players between me and the cutoff decide wheter they want to call two bets cold? I felt if I bet I would probably get raised by the cutoff so I could make it three to go.

In general, I only called preflop because my AKo would need help against 4 other players and I would be out of position the rest of the hand. Lucky for me I flopped a strong hand after It was capped preflop by the other players /images/graemlins/smile.gif
