I'd put in the bet on the river and fold unless I had a strong read that the raiser was bluffing. I think you still have value here.

Since the river likely changes nothing, and it doesn't seem like anyone completed a draw on the turn, is your river check the result of thinking: "I don't know if I'm ahead or behind so I'll stop betting now?"

this was really it. I got called twice, one and EP player who I have played with before and I wouldn't think he was calling me down without at least a Q. He wouldn't raise AQ or KQ from and EP but he would certainly play it.

Well as you would think I lost a bet on the river. EP showed down 2nd pair and button showed down a pocket pair.

Unless you have an earlier note on one of the opponents that says he prone to slowplay/tricky (this guy might have the flush or JT) OR extremely passive (KQ or AQ) you MUST bet here. You were given no indication on the turn that anyone completed a hand and that's the information I think you need to go with. Granted my view might be slightly tainted by the fact it was checked around on the river, but I don't really have a problem making this bet... though I expect to be beaten occasionally by some shlepp who is afraid to bet his KQo because he is seeing the same monsters you are.

I tend to agree with the rest of the posters. I think bet the river.

Why oh why did the 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif scare you?

Peace,

It wasn't the 2. Really what scared me was my crappy kicker with an EP caller. Like I said I have played with the guy before and really didn't think he's be calling me down with 2nd pair. Note taken on him but I really thought that he had to have at least the KQ.

The flaw in this thinking is that he's not going to raise so I really should have bet.

How about 2nd pair w/A /images/graemlins/spade.gif?

lol...actually he had the 9 with like a 7 or something of hearts. It really was strange. I recently started going back to the casino after spending a lot of my time online playing tounry's and I've had to adjust my reads on people that I had played with before. Either I've gotten better and am naturally seeing more or they have gotten worse....probably a little of both. The WPT is not a good thing for everyone....ya know what they say about a little bit of knowledge.
