Nit - n. (1) ones who plays consistently loosely and without proper pot-odds. (2) One who plays garbage hands. (3) Gambler, not a poker player. (4) Moron.

Example. 2 bets to see the flop. 4 way action. Flop is KQ4. 2 bets to see the turn. Turn 6. River 4. Bet raise on river between 2 players. Showdown is KQs vs. 64off. Player with 64o is clearly a nit.

A nit is pretty much the opposite of your description, save perhaps the moron part. You have defined a calling station or fish, perhaps even a whale.

If many people who also use the word "nit" look at you with a look of baffled confusion when you use it, you'll know why.

Should we tell him what nit really means? I think it could be more fun watching him use it incorrectly (BUT with confidence!).

I suppose my definiton has evolved to mean something similar yet different. Nit.
