Buying the button preflop

I have a question about raising preflop in the cutoff position to take over the button.

I think you can raise with slightly lighter hands because you can gain the advantage of taking the button.

How low of a hand would you raise with? I guess it also depends on the number of limpers. If there was one limper, would you raise with hands like AT, KJ, KT, A8s, or QJ?

1 limper in the cut-off w/those hands, sure. Especially if the limper is known for limping with cheese.
