I have half a mind to not post this here because if I have any credibility at all, it may go out the window with this post.

I chuckle to myself every time I read a post about how party awards the pot to the wrong guy and every other crackpot thing like that but today I had an experience of my own...

I was in a NLHE sng $10+1. Card table 4420. Tournament number 2252592. About halfway through the tournament, I lose all ability to bet No limit. I am offered the Limit betting buttons only. I can only call or min raise. This stayed this way for the remainder of the tourney. I talked about it during the tourney to which I was told to shut up by the other players.

I called the help line, but only got a message about server problems, etc... I tried talking to the live floorperson but after an hour (half an hour after I was out) I finally gave up.

I somehow placed third in the tourney, but I am fuming nonetheless. How can one expect to compete in a NL tourney without the ability to do anything but min-raise.

I am not asking anyone here to believe this, because lord knows, if I had read this post earlier today I never would have believed it. What I am asking is how to prove it?

I requested a detailed hand history, but it shows up like this:

***** Hand History for Game 386995115 *****

Creating Main Pot with $2660 with AleoMagus
** Summary **
Main Pot: 2660 | Side Pot 1: 170
Board: [ 5s 8s 2s 5c Th ]
AleoMagus balance 2660, bet 1330, collected 2660, net +1330 [ Ac 8c ] [ two pairs, eights and fives -- Ac,8c,8s,5s,5c ]
Zeegs2217 balance 1320, bet 1500, collected 170, lost -1330 [ Jc Kh ] [ a pair of fives -- Kh,Jc,Th,5s,5c ]
bluerose balance 4020, didn't bet (folded)

I suppose the 'AleoMagus shown [Fold,Call(250),Raise(750)to(1330)]' make it look a lot like I am wrong, but I assure you I could not raise to 1330. I am not going to min raise 80% of my stack.

I tried asking in the chat if anyone knew how to get a screenshot of partypoker, but I got no help.

Please don't judge me too harshly. I am not crazy. This did happen.

Somebody help me prove this

Regards,
AleoMagus

I believe you, but I don't know how you can prove it. A while back I was in a SNG at Party and there was longer than normal delay in awarding the pot. The next thing I know the action is on me and I can't see my cards! You think it is bad playing NL only being able to min raise, try it without seeing your cards! Anyway, this continued for about 3 hands after which I could see my cards again.

Alt+PrntScrn

Then go into Paint and do a "paste".

I believe it. The other day I couldn't see my hole cards. What you should always do when you get a malfunction like this is to quit out of the client, and restart it. You will be brought back to the tourney, and this fixes glitches most of the time.

I believe you as well. I was playing a multi the other day utg made it 100 to go I had KK raised to 300 utg+5 raises all in for 1000 gets a caller and utg completes. It's back to me and my only option is to call the bet, even though I still had 2000 left chips and could place the other 2 all in as well. Caller was holding TT and made his set on the flop when I was able to move all in. I contacted support about the issue but they told me that without prove they couldn't do anything about it. Real piss off.

I refer back to a statement made on this forum recently, (might have been Kurn?) that if party had Stars' software, they would own internet gambling.

I have been unconvinced several times by partys's software and certainly by their customer service. Try Stars, it may have tougher players (although right now, those tougher players are complaining about all the fish, and appropriately about the concommitant bad beats), but it really is better software and better managed.

Yeah, I have had to play "blind" before once or twice as well. My advice would be to fold and not look up the hand history - it'll only piss you off.

Thanks. The screenshot thing is good to know.

Sigh... It's a new day. What does Party have in store for me? More fish, few bad beats, and no software problems I hope. This experience has me doubting my sanity

I don't really know why I am such a Partypoker advocate at this point. You want to hear something really funny. Earlier yesterday, I cashed all my money off of Stars! (Yes, forfeiting any possibility of getting the bonus)

I should really give that site a chance, especially considering that I am a winner there. Here is my complete 2004 Pokerstars record:

10+1 2-table sng(2+2) 16th -11
10+1 2-table sng(2+2) 6th -11
10+1 2 table sng(2+2) 16th -11
10+1 2 table sng 1st +61
10+1 1 table sng(2+2) 4th -11
10+1 1 table sng 3rd +7
10+.5 Heads up sng 1st +9.5
20+1 heads up sng 2nd -21
20+1 Heads up sng 1st +19.5

For a grand Total of +32!

I suppose in the same amount of time, I'd make double that at Party, but then again, I don't have to just play the 2+2ers if I play at Stars. Perhaps my image of Stars' difficulty is skewed by those tourneys.

Still, I love Party for all her shortcomings. Yesterday's experience was in a whole new league though. I almost wish I hadn't got third because then I could see how Party's support would deal with me. I kinda doubt they will refund me a tourney I made money in.

The thing is, I think Party keeps a close eye on who contributes to their rake/fees and gives them extra consideration. The reason I say this is that I get whatever I want from them. Sure it can take time, but their support has been very good to me. I never have any doubt about a refund for any reason. I half suspect that I could make up a problem and get a refund at this point. I'm gonna talk to them about this regardless, just to see what they have to say.

I wish I hadn't cashed off Stars though. I am definitely giving it more thought.
