Data is from Poker Charts, (the graph didn't copy). I Play mostly (2)tables of .50-$1.00 full ring hold'em. Questions are below regarding standard deviation?

MY STATISTICS »

STREAK: $105.00 W4 - I am on a 4 session winning streak for a total of 105.00 over 3 days.

I came out $38.75 ahead during my last session, 1.00 hours of $.50-1 Fixed Hold 'Em at Paradise Poker. From 2003-11-12 to 2004-02-10 I have mostly played Hold 'Em (80% of the time), and after that Tournament Hold 'Em (20% of the time). I am most successful playing Hold 'Em ($1,358 overall), and least successful playing Tournament Hold 'Em ($-37 overall). I have played all of my games at Paradise Poker. I have been averaging 32.04 hours of poker a week, or 28.61% of my waking hours (assuming I sleep eight a night).

Questions -

1 - Return Standard deviation is this too high?
(Poker charts explains that consistent players will have a lower number).

2 - Win Rate Standard Deviation - Is this too high? (also consistent players will have a lower number).

RE: Standard Deviation are my numbers low enough to be considered consistent?

Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.

I think your numbers look great. I'm not a fan of the SD numbers - (flame me) since mathematical exectation has nothing to do with results, and these numbers present what would (or should) be statistical standard deviation related to the overall (RETURN STD) of your $1300 win and the hourly win rate (WIN RATE STD) where you could be up or down $15 per hour and feel they are of no use in a sample like this (because they are based on the win $, not the actual play of the sample person). For me, the only number that is important is your hourly..............

Just for comparison, my numbers at .50/$1 are almost exactly the same. I was playing one table to start, then moved up to two and then three. With three I felt I was playing worse (I have no idea how David Ross plays four short-handed tables of $5/$10 with any success) and have been playing mostly two tables since several weeks ago.

My win rate was 10.25BB my first 100 hours, then 10.50BB my second - moving up to $2/4 and $3/6. I got whacked around at $5/10 and $15/30 and then played 35 hours of .50/$1 the last two weeks and won just $6.71/hour.

You are doing great /images/graemlins/laugh.gif - good luck when you move up. AL
