Okay, this is not the greatest of great Grannie Mae stories, but it was the first time I had ever played the hand. I was getting good cards, but was not hitting anything in 2/4 at Party. Tilt was setting in, and I was considering quitting if nothing happened in the next orbit.
I was somewhere in mid position, when I was dealt Q /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif and I played it because a) tilt b) it was the hand of destiny, right?
No raises and, to be honest, I don't recall how many saw the flop. I am think it was 5 or so.
The flop
4 Q 5 (suits not important)
checked to me, bet, and get two callers.
Turn:
5
Checked to me, bet, and get two callers
River:
3
Checked to me, bet, everyone folds.
I am pretty sure that all I needed was the Q to win, but that hand turned things around for me. Things just starting to click after that, and tilt subsided.
I just wanted to thank Grannie Mae for turning a bad session into a good one.
