still ridiculously unfunny like SNL is nowadays, but hey, it's Hold'em on SNL :P

the VH1 show that highlights events in the past week (usually involving dumb entertainment personalities, etc.) commented briefly on the new explosion of poker on TV. it had a quick clip of VVP saying how great it was, and an even quicker clip of Jim McManus saying nothing just tilting his hat forward... I wish they would have played more of that interview...

but poker was on VH1...

Celebrity poker deserves to be mocked. The players are god-awful and the poker is just unwatchable. I really hope that these pseudo-poker games are not going to replace real poker on TV as played by the pros. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think they missed the mark on the actual venue. They got the B-list celebrities right, and a bit of the poker mistakes, but mostly made jokes based on the celebrity personalities. The "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketches did a much better job of that and the venue humor.
