20/40 B&M

I open from the MP with Q /images/graemlins/club.gifQ /images/graemlins/diamond.gif suits really don't matter here

The CO cold calls(CS), as does the button(super CS), the SB 3 bets (AK or better) and the BB caps it. All call.

Flop is K /images/graemlins/heart.gifQ /images/graemlins/heart.gifQ /images/graemlins/spade.gif

checks to me, I bet, CO calls, and then the BB checkraises, I smooth calls, as does the CO.

Turn: 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif

BB checks, I bet, CO calls, BB checkraises again, I 3 bet, CO says I must be drawing dead and folds, BB calls.

River A /images/graemlins/heart.gif

BB Bets, I raise, BB 3 bets, I cap, BB folds..........

Now can I bring a suit for the 15 grand worth of anguish this guy caused me on the river?

Oh and for those who think you slowplay quads... no way.

I don't get it. Why the anguish?

Probably hoping he was beat, so he could collect the badbeat jackpot.

What casino do you play at that has a cap heads up?

I call bs on this hand.

No you cannot, Sue.

While I rarely slow-play anything for single bets I will routinely slow-play monsters if it will cost them 2-bets. In this case betting the flop is routine after BB checks, but if he bets then you SHOULD slow-play by flat calling, if there are players behind you.

I'd have been tempted to flat call his turn 2-bet but it sure LOOKS like he's got KsFull and will give LOTs of action.

1 bet and 3 raises at the Muck. I've tried to continue raising but they just get mad.

No you cannot, Sue.

Just a joke, since it's on Native American land I don't think there is a legal system anyway. Boy but the 3 bet on the river sure got the old blood pumping.

I put the BB on K's full or AA and thought I'd get lots of action, if the flush draw stays more power to him. AA sure would have been a nice holding though.

Should this be a corollary to Majorkong's post about not folding big pots for single bets? Don't try to win single bets on the river and lose big jackpots? Am assuming correctly that it was a big hand jackpot and not a bad beat jackpot?

when did $20/40 become SMALL stakes?

Ya.. try explaining this to Muckleshoot. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

If the opponent had AA or J /images/graemlins/heart.gifT /images/graemlins/heart.gif, he would have won a big jackpot.

Dude, WTF did he have? AK I guess... though it looks more like online play than Muckleshoot 20-40 action. If he laid down Kings full on the river... well, wow.

Am I missing something- 'cause AA would have still had him losing. Hero had quads...

I woulda laughed if he called and turned over 10 /images/graemlins/heart.gif J /images/graemlins/heart.gif for the royal. ALRIGHT.... BB JP for you, but he caught his one outer and still emerges on top...Should posted it like that just for reaction...Or even better if he mucked the same hand face up just to spite you, that would be awesome. Caught his one outer and lets it go just to give his oponent the shaft, Its what I woulda done...

On second thought? Ignore the pervious post. That would not be cool...

yes. the beaten gets 1/2, the winner gets 1/4 and the table splits 1/4. 1/4 is still a real big pot. 1/2 is bigger obviously, but 1/4 ain't shabby.

this is a great post for those who think you should check this to the river to let them catch their hands to pay you off.

I don't know what it is but the 20/40 gets wild crazy in the evenings now. Nobody plays overs but it's as laggy as you'll find.

I'm probably cheating myself by not playing overs on the table.

Mason wrote an essay about playing the overs. It's in poker essays II.

You are lucky. Six months ago, everyone played overs, and the 20-40 was quite tough.

I did not know about that rule. Thanks. Where I play we do not have a cap in a heads up hand.
