This is sort of a Dogs of the Dow type value pick, where I think Kohl's(KSS) should bounce back this year. It's coming off a 52-week low in early January. KSS had a bad quarter, but I they have got there less profitable lines out of stores. They plan on opening new stores this year, so they should see some growth. It's at 44-45 range now and I'm guessing it will be back in the 60's sometime this year. Earnings announcement set for end of Febuary.

They got select on one value pickers stocks list:

hope you are long from wednesday or before the nice pop on friday...http://stockcharts.com/gallery?kss

could meet some resistance around 52 but if that number is passed with good volume further gains to 60 like you say are quite possible... if it did make 60 in 2-3 weeks i would run with the quick gains and absolutely not look back.

bottom fishing was not my style before as i am a big fan of william o'neils and IBD daily theories but i have had some good successes so far lately with picking some bottoms of some stocks and taking quick gains. uncle ray may actually be on to something with EK...http://stockcharts.com/gallery?ek...(but don't tell him i said that, heh) if it holds that gap and starts to move up i may jump in for a short term trade but just don't sleep good at night holding a stock like that and concider it a risky move but EK shares are definately under accumulation as of late. just my 2 cents

Yeah, I got into KSS long and thought I'd pass it along here. I expected it to get a boost by the end of the month, somewhat surprised at how timely my post is.

I think it will make 60-70 range sometime this year.

to something with EK

Don't like EK at all. I feel any comback on this stock is temporary. They are able to cut costs and improve there bottom line for the short term. But in the long run this company is not growing and revenues will continue to shrink. Just don't feel it's similar to KSS.

For what it's worth Valueline has it rated as a 5 on their 1 to 5 scale. This makes it a bottom 100 stock, but then again Valueline has been kinda sucky for the past few years where their 5's have been outperforming their 1's. So it might not be so bad afterall.

That's sort of the idea behind the Dogs of the Dow theory. Companies that have been performing well, become overrated and overvalued. Meanwhile the poorer performing companies are cheap, correct there mistakes and make the largest gains. That's the buy low part of buy low, sell high.
