Wow. it seems like i've been posting messages everyday.

I got a couple of questions with online poker games..
which one has the the most realistic play for play money? because play money players are generally morons that call all the way down to the river, and I just wanted to get some practice and kill some time between my live sessions.

And also which site is best for real money poker? i want to get started online because going to the casino everyday is an hour drive and i can't go everyday. i read a lot of the messages here and it seems like everybody plays PartyPoker. Is that what I should use? Thanks.

I personally only play tournaments when it comes to play money because then its about getting to the 10 first places so ppl dont just throw away their chips because then they gonna loose...

i think they all offer play money. i played play money at party poker for about a week to get used to it before investing real money.

The only realistic play money game is at Poker School Online, but it costs $ to join, well worth it though for improving your game without the $ lessons at actual tables... More then pays for itself, very good info for members only also....

I don't know if there is all that much difference between sites in terms of cards dealt but some things you may want to consider:

If you are just getting in to online, UltimateBet has games at .01/.02, Pacific has .05/.10 and .10/.20, and I think Poker Stars also has either .05.10 or .10/.20

The software features and graphics are very different on different sites. i.e. if you use Party you mostly automate getting hand histories into Poker Tracker which is an excellent learning tool. If you use UB, you can get the histories, but it is ugly to the point of unusable. If you use Pacific, you can't get them at all.

Some site seem to have looser players/tables than others. i.e. UB seems to have tightened up a bit from say 6 months ago. You used to see flop % of around 50% now it is closer to 30%. On Pacific, at almost all levels it is usually 70%-80%, which translates into 7 or 8 players seeing the flop.
