After playing 30,000 hands of low limit poker on party poker with a win rate of 2BB/hr, I decided to give NL $25 a try.

I have included a screenshot of Poker Track for my results so far:

Can these impressive results just be blamed on luck or should I expect to do this well Party NL?

I'm guessing my results could be explained by any of the following (or all of them).

1. Reading 4 books on poker recently
2. Playing very tight
3. Luck

I wish I knew NL was this profitable b4 I played 30,000 hands of limit!

I guess I'm really looking for someone to just say that 30BB/100 Hands should not be expected to continue. So what is a realistic BB/100 hands rate?

Well, yeah, that's pretty high.

I'm the lazy type, so I don't keep records, but I've heard people quote 7 or 10 BB/table/hr as figures for strong players at low buy-in NL. Assuming 60 hands/table/hr, that makes around 12-16 BB/100 hands. Again, these are the numbers I've heard from strong, experienced players, so I'd certainly expect somewhat less, especially starting off.

Hope this helps...

Oh- and remeber: BB in limit = big bet
BB in NL = big blind

So you can't just compare your 2BB to 30 BB and say, wow, 15 times as much! For example, 2 BB at 2/4 = $8. 30 BB at $25 NL = 30 * .50 = $15.

PT says I'm at 15BB/hr.

That is pretty odd that PT uses Big Blind for NL calculations. I wonder why it isnt Big bets.

*Correction*

I just took a further look at it, and seems that it DOES use Big Bets:

I've won $372.20 over 23.28 table hours. That is $15.99/hr which also is my BB/hr. That means the BB = $1. At party the Big Bet is $1 at NL 25.

Yeah, in Pokertracker, a BB is double the big blind for No Limit games.

If you really want to get serious about playing NL, I'd suggest u read "Pot Limit and No-Limt Poker" by Ciaffone and Rubens next. the 25$ worth of the book as been worth a couple of thousand for me in the last year.

Brunson's book is good too but outdated, and he admits it in the intro of the last edition. Still lots of usefull info but must be read when you have more experience. It will help you to analyse it better.

One last thing, stay away from TJ. Cloutier's "Championship PL and NL Hold'em" it's really is'nt worth it.
